Baijnath is a little lower
town than Kausani,
located on the banks of the Gomti
river in the Garuda Valley. The main attraction
of Baijnath is the temple complex.
The black stone idol of Parvati
in the main temple has
been exquisitely worked
and is worth visiting
place. Here you can pick up a large packet of Channa to feed the fish
near the temple and also
look out for the large
round stone which nine
men should lift using
only a finger each, just
outside the compound. A
Kali temple is also
located about eight kms. from the
main temple, also known as Kot-ki-mai. |
