Desert Resort - Mandawa
|
|
The Desert Resort reflects the traditional harmony
between man and nature in the legendary Shekhawati
region. A pioneer in mud architecture, the award
winning Desert Resort was built in1985. The
brain-child of Thakur kesri Singh, a former banker,
the resort was created as an extension of his hobbies.
One can see his private collection of Vintage cars,
play billiards, go for a horse ride/camel ride or do a
bit of bird watching at the oasis created specially at
the resort. The mystery and romance of desert are
captured in the unusual architecture of the resort.
Recreated in the style of a typical Rajasthani
village, The Desert Resort is a verdant oasis in the
midst of a stark desert landscape. The legends of this
historic colourful land have been captured in the
murals and frescoes of its Havelis, Forts, Temples,
and cenotaphs. Set against this exotic backdrop is The
Desert Resort, Mandawa.
