Mahansar is a village of Shekhawati region in
Rajasthan, India. It is located in Jhunjhunu
district at a distance of 40 km from Jhunjhunu near
the trifurcation of Jhunjhunu, Churu and Sikar
districts. Mahansar region is very well known for
its famous heritage liquor, it will not be a
hyperbole to say that it is the region of Rajasthan
that has kept the traditional brewing system in
India alive.
It is famous for the Sone-Chandi ki Dukan dating
from 1846. It incorporates gold leaf in its
elaborate paintings. This haveli has three vaulted
ceilings; scenes from the Ramayana are painted on
the left one, personifications of Vishnu on the
centre one, and scenes from the life of Krishna are
to be found on the right one.
Thakur
Nahar Singh laid the foundation of Narayan Niwas Castle at
Mehansar in 1768.
Family has lived in the castle for centuries
and now have opened its gates to the honored guests.

Narayan Niwas Castle also popularly known as
Mehansar castle is situated amongst the midst of
semi desert and rural surroundings. Castle is becoming
popular among the writers, fashion photographers and art
lovers. Mehansar itself has several frescoed temples, havelis, cenotaphs
