Ramgarh is situated at a height of approximately 5870 feet,
about 14 km ahead of Bhowali and 25 km from Nainital. Ramgarh
had also been known as
the cultural capital as Rabindranath Tagore
wanted to set up a centre of learning.
He was influenced by the Ramgarh’s magical spell-laden orchards, forested hillsides, babbling brooks and views of snow clad Himalayas. But, he eventually gifted Shantiniketan to
West Bengal. Later Ramgarh,
was converted into a horticultural haven
or the fruit bowl of Kumaon.
Today, the fruit processing factory is pride of Ramgarh. |
