Ramnagar is situated on the banks of the Kosi
river and was set up by Commissioner H Ramsay (1856-1884). With the coming of the broad gauge railway line, Ramnagar has become a very important town. One can visit the archaeological ruins of Dhikuli, the Garjia Devi temple and Sitabani while one is at Ramnagar. Ten kms. from Ramnagar are the ruins of Kotabagh, which date back to
the Chand rulers. From Ramnagar one can also go to Ranikhet and Chaukhutia
and beyond via Mohan. |
