tehsil in Dehradun district of the Indian state,
Uttarakhand. Rishikesh is surrounded by three
other districts namely Tehri Garhwal, Pauri
Garhwal and Haridwar. Located in the foothills of
the Himalayas in northern India, it is known as
the Gateway to the Garhwal Himalayas. It is
located about 25 km north of the city Haridwar and
43 km south west of the state capital Dehradun.
