Fateh Prakash Palace was founded built by Maharana Fateh Singh. In 1968 a large portion of Fateh Prakash Palace was converted into a museum. This museum is situated inside the historical Chittorgarh Fort.

This museum has a large collection of sculptures. Some of the most prominent sculptures of the museum are:  Statues of Ambica and lndra from Rashmi village of post medieval period and statues of Ganpati (8th -9th century).

The division dedicated to armoury, daggers, weapons, consists of knives, soldiers' uniforms, axes, farsa, old shields, and helmets. The clay models of local tribes have also been displayed in a room with their traditional outfits.
 

The museum has been divided in a variety of sections dedicated to different artifacts such as coins, art, weapons, tribal life and wood crafts of the Bassi village.

A large collection of sculptures, and majority of the deities is harboured within this museum. Belonging to this collection the statue of Lord Ganpati from Pangarh was built during the 8th - 9th century. There are several sculptures dating back to post medieval period such as the statues of Indra and Jain Ambica. They were excavated from the Rashi village. Apart from the beautiful figures the museum also has a section dedicated to weapons and armory such as axes, helmets, shields, farsa and knives. This museum also has preserved uniforms of the mighty soldiers of Chittorgarh.
