Manek Chowk
The superbly landscaped Manek Chowk , in front of the City
Palace , Udaipur , has been the traditional venue for royal festivities since the early 1600s.

Zanana Mahal

Jagmandir Palace
|
Jagmandir - an
island - palace on Lake Pichola was built by Maharana Karan
Singh in 1622 as a pleasure palace for royal parties. Today
this magnificent setting with its domes, marble
pillars and fountain available for banquets, weddings etc.
An interesting history of the palace makes it even more
attractive. It was this pleasure Palace where, Prince
Khurram, later to become the Emperor Shahjahan of Mughal
dynasty, took refuge. It is claimed that he derived his
inspiration to build Taj Mahal from this island. This claim
makes the whole event even more romantic.
This Island has hosted a number of grand events through the
decades including weddings, theme parties and royal parties.
The guests are ferried in decorated boats across the lake in
form of a procession to the Jagmandir Island in the middle
of Lake Pichola, decorated with lights for the special
occasion. The whole island has an encompassing view of the
City Palace, Lake Palace, the Lake and the Aravali ranges of
hills.
The Garden Courtyard, Darikhana and Top terrace of Jag
Mandir provide excellent facilities for holding any type of
event. The Garden Courtyard of Jag Mandir Palace can
accommodate between 50 to 300 guests for sit-down banquets
and upto 500 guests for buffet style catering.
The “Darikhana” is a cosy colonnaded venue has floor seating
with mattress and bolsters and decorated with flowers.
Special lighting at Darikhana makes for a truly romantic
setting.
Top Terrace is a more exclusive and private venue with
breathtaking views of the lake, mountains, island palace and
the City palace. |
