Introduction
of Siliserh Lake Palace |
Siliserh
Lake is a serene picnic spot which is located about 13 km south west
of Alwar. Siliserh Lake covers an area of about 10.5 square km. The
lake is enclosed by thick wooded hills with beautiful chhatris on its
bank. Earlier, this lake was a source of the Alwar's water supply and
various water birds and fishes can be seen in this lake.
Siliserh
lake palace was founded in 1845 AD by Maharaja Vinay Singh for his
queen Shila. Siliserh lake palace is located between the Aravalis
overlooking the Siliserh Lake. Now this palace has been converted into
a heritage hotel. One can enjoy boating and sailing facilities at the
lake, this lake is a wonderful spot for various photographers and film
makers. Best season to visit this place is from July to August.

Tijara is an ancient and historic town which is situated about 50 kms from
Alwar.
Ajabgarh:
It is situated about 20 kms from south of Thana Ghazi in alwar district,
it is known for the shrine of Shri Ranghnath ji. |

Alwar is on the broad gauge network of the western Railways. It has
suitable connections from Delhi and Jaipur. An exotic train runs from
Delhi to Alwar. It is the well-known Fairy Queen, which is the oldest
running steam locomotive in the world. The hospitality and the luxury of
this train are exceptional. It takes about 3-4 hours to reach Alwar. One
can enjoy the scenery of the surroundings en route.
By Road:
Alwar is well connected by road to the various parts of Rajasthan. Regular
bus service operates between Alwar and major cities like Kota, Udaipur,
Ajmer, Jaipur, Delhi, Jaisalmer and Jodhpur.

The nearest airport to Alwar is Jaipur which is about 148 km from Alwar.
