Kumbhalgarh is one of the prominent examples of defensive
fortification in Rajsamand district of Rajasthan. It is included in
Hill Forts of Rajasthan and it is a World Heritage Site. After
Chittorgarh, The fort of Kumbalgarh was the second most prominent fort
of the Mewar kingdom. It was founded by Rana Kumbha in 15th century.
This fort is rising from a prominent ridge at an altitude of 1914
meters above the sea level. Kumbhalgarh is about 85 km from Udaipur.

42.6 degree Celsius in summers and it is about 11.6 degree Celsius in

was founded by Rana Kumbha and his dynasty who were Sisodiarajputs

km long wall which has seven ramparts and seven majestic gates, one

Singh was hidden in these chambers to save himself from his murderous
intentions of his uncles.

Other prominent attractions of Kumbalgarh is the Cloud Palace or
“Badal Mahal”. Cloud Palace offers a scenic view of the surrounding
countryside, it is located at the top of the hill. It was renovated in
the late 19th century. Ranakpur Jain Temples are the nearby attraction
which is about 25 km south west of Kumbhalgarh.
