Sariska is
situated on the surroundings of Aravali hills in the eastern part of
Rajasthan. It was the hunting reserve of the Maharajas of Alwar
earlier. Siliserh Lake runs along the edge of the reserve with a
hunting lodge overlooking the sanctuary.
Sariska
Wildlife Sanctuary is a famous attraction in Sariska. Sariska Wildlife
Sanctuary was given the status of a sanctuary in 1955 and it was
declared as a National Park in the year 1979.
The
climate of Sariska is tropical. Both summers and winters are very
hot in Sariska.
People
usually like to travel to Sariska in summers because due to the heat,
the wild animals are spotted around the water spots and it's a very
amazing view to watch them. |

Important
tourist attraction in Sariska is Sariska National Park.
The main fauna in the Sariska National Park are the Panther, Tiger,
Sambhar,
Chinkara,
Leopard,
Nilgai, Civet, Hyena, Jungle Cat,
Four-Horned Antelope and Porcupine. Sariska has several historical
sites also besides national park. Ruins of medieval temples of the
Hindu God Shiva are situated inside the park. Ruins of the temple
Garh-Rajor was constructed in the 10th century which are sprinkled all
over the jungle.
A
17th century castle on a sharp hilltop at Kanakwari provides a very
beautiful view of Sariska. Mughal emperor Aurangzeb jailed his
brother, Dara Shikoh, inside the fort. There is also a
palace which was founded by the erstwhile Maharajas of Alwar that has
now been converted into a hotel.

The nearest railway station from Sariska is Alwar which is directly
linked with all the important cities of India.

Alwar is also well-connected by road. Nearby places of Sariska are
connected by bus services. New Delhi, Jaipur and Alwar are the nearby
