City
palace is stunned with balconies, cupolas and towers. From the city palace
one can have an amazing view of the city and the lake of Udaipur.
Exhibits inside the palace include wall paintings, colored glass,
glass and tiles, precious stones that reflect images of the lake etc.
Interiors of city palace looks very beautiful due to abundant use of
mirror work, amazing mosaic of silver leaves, fluted columns, marble,
frescoes, inlay work and silver doors.
Inside the
city palace there are many beautiful items and exhibits which are very
lavish and are ornamented properly. City Palace is enclosed by walls
for battlements. The City Palace can be reached through three
gateways. One can enter the city palace from the Elephant gate or the
Hathi Pol. There is a ancestral chart at the entrance of the palace
museum whose floor-to-ceiling clearly outlines the rule of the 76
Maharanas of Mewar from 734 AD. A major part of the city palace is now
converted into a museum which exhibits a variety of exhibits like the
miniature paintings embroidered with gold and silver leaf, crystal
ware, palanquins, carry chairs, howdahs, Danish porcelain, weapons
etc. One of the oldest portion of the palace is Nav Chowki Mahal.

Pol (Big gate)
It takes one to the Triple gate, Triple gate was founded in 1725, it
is a triple arched gate.
Suraj
Gokhada (balcony of the sun)
To improve the confidence of the people in difficult times, Maharana
would grant public audiences at this place.
Krishna
Vilas
Krishna Vilas exhibit a rich collection of miniature paintings.
Krishna Vilas is a beautiful chamber inside which has a collection of
miniature paintings of festivals and other activities of Royals. At
this place the royal princess was unable to choose between two kings
who wants to marry her, to overcome this situation she drank poison
and save the kingdom from 2 kings.
Ruby
Palace
Ruby Palace exhibits a collection of mirror and glass work.
Ganesh
Deori (the door of Lord Ganesh)
From Ganesh Deori (the door of Lord Ganesh) one can enter the city
palace. Ganesh Deori takes one to the Rajya Angan which is the royal
courtyard. In 1559 Maharana Udai Singh met a holy man at this place
who told him to found a city and he laid the foundation of the palace.
Mor
Chowk
It is a peacock square, it is famous due to the stunning blue mosaic
in glass of a peacock that beautifies its walls. The rooms of the
palace are marvelously decorated with paintings and mirror tiles.
Dilkhusha Mahal
It is also known as Palace of Joy. It is decorated with murals and
wall paintings.
Manak
Mahal
Manak Mahal comprises a large and wonderful collection of glass work
and mirror.
Sheesh
Mahal
Sheesh Mahal is famous for its mirror work which is done very
perfectly.
