All over
India, the only pilgrimage shrine is Pushkar which is devoted to Lord
Brahma. In pushkar one of the famous pilgrimage centre for Hindus is
the temple of God Brahma which is situated in Pushkar. The Brahma
temple is a famous pilgrimage centre for the Hindus which is situated
in Pushkar. Brahma temple is located in the amazing valley of Pushkar
which lies beyond Anasagar lake and Nagaparvat. It is a general
consideration about this temple that Lord Brahma, together with all
the gods and goddesses performed a Yagya here. This place holds a very
important place for Hindus. Image of Lord Brahma is in a seated Palthi
position in the temple. The floors of the temple are ornamented with
silver turtle and the temple is constructed by marble. |
In
Pushkar there are 5 prominent temples which are recently built, since
the earlier buildings were destroyed by the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.
On
the banks of Pushkar Lake, about 50 Ghats and 400 temples are
situated.
Some of the famous temples in Pushkar are Godamba temple, Rangnath
temple and Mahalakshmi temple, Atmeshvara Temple, God Vishnu Temple,
Savitri Temple and Gayatri Temple. The Rangnath temple is very
magnificent and attractive and is constructed in southern style. The
images in Rangnath temple are almost true of life. This temple has an
image of Lord Vishnu, Garuda pillars and dwarpals (door men) in
amazing bird styled gold. |
