Kharwa Fort was founded in 1592 by Rao Sakat Singh of the Rathore clan of Rajputs, Kharwa still maintains its original peace and beauty.The imposing fort of Kharwa is situated in a peaceful village tucked away in the Aravalli hills about 37 kms South-west of Ajmer. It overlooks a serene and peaceful lake.

The walls of the fort are scattered with hunting trophies which give an indication of the substantial lifestyle of its inhabitants. The village seems untouched by the hustle-bustle of city life.

Kharwa Fort is a perfect place for anyone interested in bird-watching and viewing typical lifestyle at close quarters. Jeep safaris are available to see the Great Indian Bustard and other wild life. Boating, Trekking and Horse Safari are also available on request . It is very close to Pushkar and Ajmer.
