Malsi Deer Park in Dehradun is one of the prominent tourist attractions of the Doon Valley. Malsi Deer Park is about 10 kilometers from Dehradun , the capital of Uttaranchal. Malsi Deer Park is located on the way to Mussoorie, the most popular hill station of the country. Malsi Deer Park is one of the major tourist attractions in the city. Situated on the foothills of the Shivalik mountain range, this park is a Zoological Garden.

Salubrious climate, the natural surroundings and the attractive environment makes the Malsi Deer Park of Dehradun an ideal sight-seeing cum picnic spot. Main attractions of the Malsi Deer Park of Dehradun are a wide variety of animal species that lives here. Mainly this park is famous for deers. Apart from deer you can also see Tiger, Peacock, Rabbits and Neelgai. A delight for the bird watchers, this lovely park houses a variety of birds whose chirping and singing is an added attraction to this Park. With a wholesome weather, natural environs and the lush greenery makes the zoological park an ideal spot for picnic and excursion.

Malsi Deer Park is a haven for nature lovers, for here's wilderness unravelled like never before. It is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna, and is quite a comfort from the noise of the city life. It is home to two horned deers and neelgai, a lesser known species found only in the wildest of all regions. The park is a good place to have some refreshments and take a break if you get hunger pangs while strolling around the city.

Apart from Deers, tourists visiting the park can also spot beautiful peacocks. In addition, this reservoir is home to Nilgai, which is also known as Antelope. This place is an ideal picnic spot, where the park authorities have even installed several slides for children to play.

Other than the Deers, there are beautiful peacocks enclosed in net cages for their fear of being poached. This reservoir also has a Neelgai, also known as the Indian Antelope. Since they are extremely rare and are on the endangered species list, it is an amazing sight to see them in their natural environment.

The park also has the Two-Horned Deer and a large population of different birds, making it an ideal place to have a mini picnic. The park authorities also have installed several slides to let the children enjoy while adults take some rest. They can also feed the different types of cute and cuddly rabbits. All these things make it a package for the entire family to go on an unplanned outing, the best part being they don’t have to carry snacks as the park has a small but resourceful canteen.

Winter Season in Dehradun
Winter Season starts from the month of December and continues up to February. The winter season has a maximum of 22°C while the minimum temperature recorded is 17°C.

Monsoon Season in Dehradun
During the month of Monsoon, Dehradun receives mild to medium amount of rainfall. Monsoon season falls in the month of December and February. The city becomes even more beautiful during this month.

Summer Season in Dehradun
Summer starts from the month of March and continues up to June, and the overall climate is quite moderate. Summer season has a maximum temperature of about 35°C and the temperature drops to the lowest of 12°C. People often prefer wearing light and comfortable clothes. It is the best time to visit the place.

How to Reach Malsi Deer Park - Dehradun

By Rail
Dehradun Railway Station is the nearest railhead of the Northern Railways .The railway station is situated at a distance of about 2 km from the city center. Major cities like Delhi, Kolkata, Varanasi, Ujjain and Indore are connected by regular as well as frequent train services from the main city. You can have regular buses as well as taxi right from the railway station.

By Road
State owned Uttarakhand transport buses provides regular bus service from the main city towards several cities. The buses facilities also connect Dehradun to the Kashmere Gate in New Delhi. Deluxe A/C bus, Volvo and various other categories of buses are provided by the Uttarakhand Tourism from New Delhi to Dehradun.

By Air
Jolly Grant Airport is a domestic airport which is situated at a distance of 20 km from Dehradun city center. One can find regular daily flights to Delhi . The nearest International airport is situated at a distance of about 235 km from Delhi.
