Day 01: Delhi (Arrival)
Around midnight arrival in New Delhi. The cosmopolitan city
and capital Delhi is the main gateway for travellers. Upon
arrival, you will be met by our representative and transferred
to the hotel.
Day 02: Delhi - Paro (by air)
In the morning drive to the airport for the flight to Paro.
Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel in Paro. In
the afternoon you will visit the Rinpung Dzong. It was built
in 1646 by Shabdrung Ngwang Namgyal, the first spiritual and
temporal ruler of Bhutan. Then you will visit the National
Museum. After the visit of the National museum you will go for
an excursion to Taktstang monastery. In April 1998 a fire
destroyed the main structure of Taktstang Monastery, perched
on the side of a cliff 900 m above the valley floor.
Day 03: Paro
In the morning you will visit the Ta Dzong. The Ta Dzong was
built in 1651 as a watch tower. This dzong is round more like
parts of an European castle. In the afternoon you will visit
the Drugyal Dzong. It means the victorious fortress which was
built in 1647 by Shabdrung to celebrate his victory over the
Tibetan invaders. Evening free for leisure.
Day 04: Paro - Thimphu
In the morning after having breakfast you will drive to
Thimphu. Thimphu is the modern capital of Bhutan. In the
afternoon you will set out on a sightseeing tour of Thimphu.
First of all you will visit the Tashichho Dzong on the bank of
the river. It is the main Secretariat building which houses
the throne room of His Majesty, the King of Bhutan and is also
the summer residence of the central monk body. After visiting
the Secretariat building you will visit the national library
to see the rare and precious collection of Buddhism.
Day 05: Thimphu - Wangdiphodrang
Today you will visit a painting school and the center of the
traditional medicines. Then you will visit the Memorial
Chorten. Memorial Chorten is a stupa and was built in 1974 in
the memory of the late third king Jigme Dorji Wangchuk. The
paintings and images inside the monument provide a rare sight
into the Buddhist philosophy. In the afternoon drive to
Wangdiphodrang. In the evening you will reach Wangdiphodrang.
Rest of the day free for leisure.
Day 06: Wangdiphodrang - Khuruthang - Limukha
Today you will visit Wangdiphodrang Dzong. This Dzong is the
town's most visible feature and was built during the 17th
century. After visiting the Wangdiphodrang Dzong you will
drive to Khuruthang and start trekking from Khuruthang to
Limukha. From Khuruthang you will trek towards Limukha. It
will be a trek for about 5 to 6 hours. Limukha is situated at
an altitude of 3500 m. Arrive in Limukha by the evening.
Overnight stay in Limukha.
Day 07: Limukha - Chungsakha (about 16 km)
In the morning after having the breakfast you will start your
trekking tour. From Limukha you will trek towards Chungsakha.
It will be a trek for about 5 to 6 hours. Chungsakha is
situated at an altitude of 3800 m. Arrive in Chungsakha by the
afternoon. Evening free for leisure and relaxation. Overnight
stay in Chungsakha.
Day 08: Chungsakha - Samtengang (about 13 km)
In the morning after having the breakfast you will start your
trekking tour. From Chungsakha you will trek towards
Samtengang. It will be a trek for about 4 to 5 hours.
Samtengang is situated at an altitude of 3400 m. Arrive in
Samtengang by the afternoon. Evening free for leisure and
relaxation. Overnight stay in Samtengang.
Day 09: Samtengang - Wangdiphodrang (about 9 km)
In the morning after having the breakfast you will start your
trekking tour and move towards the final destination. From
Samtengang you will trek towards Wangdiphodrang. It will be a
trek for about 3 to 4 hours. Wangdiphodrang is situated at an
altitude of 3200 m. Arrive in Wangdiphodrang by the afternoon.
Evening free for leisure and relaxation. Overnight stay in
Wangdiphodrang.
Day 10: Wangdiphodrang - Thimphu - Paro
Today you will drive to Thimphu. After having lunch at Thimphu
you will drive back to Paro.
Day 11: Paro - Delhi (by air)
In the morning you will drive to the airport for the flight to
New Delhi. In the afternon arrive in Delhi.
Day 12: Delhi (Departure)
Around midnight flight to home destination.
