Ayurveda and Yoga Tour

(15 Days / 14 Nights)

(New Delhi-Jaipur-Bhandarej-Fatehpur Sikri-Agra-New Delhi)

Ayurveda
and Yoga tour is an ideal tour for those who are interested in traditional  Indian science. Ayurveda means the "science of life". It originated in India more than 5,000 years back and is believed to be the oldest healing science in existence, from which all other systems emerged. Yoga is an important, natural, preventive measure to ensure good health. Yoga is the science of the union with the divine, with truth. The practice of an ayurvedic regimen is a precursor to Yoga, because it is only when the body is fit that the individual is ready to study the spiritual science of Yoga. Ayurveda explains the laws of nature that cause health or disease.

During the Ayurveda and Yoga tour, there will be two different training sessions on Yoga and Ayurveda. In the morning from 6 to 8.30 you will have Yoga and Pranayam session. During the Yoga session you will be taught various
Yoga exercises and asanas (different body postures). After finishing the Yoga training there will be a break and the day is at leisure. After lunch there will be an Ayurveda session from 15.30 to 17.30. During the Ayurveda session you will be offered treatments by Ayurveda experts according to your body type. You would also be invited by the Ayurveda Doctor to discuss your personal treatment. This personal discussion, observation and consultation thereafter will be the base for your Ayurveda treatment planning for the next coming days. After Ayurveda session there will be a break followed by the dinner.

After your dinner there will be an assembly to discuss different topics of Yoga and Ayurveda. Our Ayurveda and Yoga experts will be there to answer your questions. There is also the possiblity to organize the lectures on certain topic on Ayurveda or Yoga.

We intend to provide all the participants vegetarian food during the 7 days of Ayurveda and Yoga session. Your Yoga and Ayuveda Training course will take place in the Hotel / Reosrt itself where you will be accommodated.

Amber was the ancient capital of Kachhawaha dynasty for 6 centuries before it was moved to newly created Jaipur. We will ascend to the Palace Fortress on the back of an Elephant. Enroute to Amber we will visit the Hawa Mahal
(Palace of the Winds), built in 1799 AD. It contains 953 small casements with each having its own balcony. The windows enabled cool air to circulate and the ladies to watch processions below without being seen. In the afternoon visit the City palace which is still the formal residence of the royal family, built in a blend of the Rajasthani and Mughal architecture. In the museum of the City palace we visit the private collection of the Jaipur Maharajas. We continue to Jantar Mantar, a stone observatory, the largest of Jai Singh's five remarkable observatories. It's complex instruments reveals us the secrets of medieval Indian astronomy. Later we have a walk through the colourful Bazaar of Jaipur and visit a factory to see the famous block printing work being done since centuries in Jaipur. In the evening we drive through the new city of Jaipur and visit "Laxmi Narayan Mandir", a Hindu temple made out of white marble. We might have an opportunity here to observe a prayer ceremony. Today we have dinner with a presentation of Indian music and dance.

Day 11: Jaipur - Bhandarej
(about 75 km / 1 hours 30 mins)
Today we drive to Bhandarej. The palace hotel of Bhandarej has a blend of Mughal and Rajputana architecture. The
Bhadrawati Palace is a heritage property with a fascinating history, tracing back to 11th century, when the Kachhawaha Chieftain Dhula Rao Saheb defeated the Badgujars and conquered Bhandarej. The palace is splendidly restored and refurbished to the former glory. The Bhandarej palace has courtyards, arched windows, traditionally painted verandahs and front lawns. The nearby Bhangarh village with its temples and historical sites has a history which dates back to 11th century. Rest of the day at leisure.

Day 12: Bhandarej - Fatehpur Sikri - Agra
(about 180 km)
Today we leave Rajasthan, the biggest state in India and drive through a series of fields, small towns and villages in direction of Agra. Enroute we make a stop and visit
Fatehpur Sikri, which was once an imperial capital frozen in time, constructed by Akb
ar the Great in the 16th century. This wonderful city constructed by red sand stones was abandoned as abruptly as it had been built. It has been generally stated that it was due to failing in the water supply. In the evening arrival in Agra.

Day 13: Agra - New Delhi (about 2
16 km / 3 hours)
We start today our sightseeing by a visit to the
Agra Fort, built by three of the greatest Mughal emperors. The construction of this massive structure began in 1565 under Akbar's reign and continued till the time of his grandson's reign, Shah Jahan who built the impressive imperial quarters and mosque. After the visit of Agra Fort we proceed to visit the most beautiful monument of India, the Taj Mahal, an enduring monument to love, with a continually fulfilling beauty. It was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan between 1631-52, as a tomb and memorial to his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal (Jewel of the Palace), who died at the age of 39 giving birth to her 14th child. We spend enough time at Taj Mahal to take this impressive memory home. After visiting Taj Mahal we drive to Delhi.

Day 14: New Delhi

In the morning, after having our breakfast we have sightseeing in Old Delhi. Sightseeing of Old Delhi includes "Rajghat", the place where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated and
Jama Masjid, the great mosque of Old Delhi. Today we also visit the famous "Humayun Tomb” which is the first substantial example of Mughal architecture in India and "Qutub Minar" which is 71 meter high and was constructed in 1199. Before we proceed to the hotel we drive through New Delhi where we visit the India Gate, Government buildings and Embassies.
