In the Pushkar Horse Safari Tour, you will have horse safari
from Nawalgarh to Pushkar. Pushkar Horse Safari Tour covers 13
Days and 12 Nights. During this tour, you will also
visit Nawalgarh, Parasrampura, Lohargal, Rewasa, Sujas, Kochor,
Sulyas, Ghatwa, Shyamgarh, Bhagwanpura, Nawa Salt Lake,
Salemabad, Babicha, Mayapur, Charanwas
and Pushkar.

Day 1: Flight to India (Delhi)
Around midnight arrival in
Delhi. The cosmopolitan city
and capital New Delhi is the main gateway for the travellers
to
India. Upon arrival, you will be met by an Indo Vacations representative
and transferred to the hotel.
Day
2: Delhi - Nawalgarh
In the morning drive from Delhi to
Nawalgarh in the
Shekhawati region of
Rajasthan. Nawalgarh is known for the
havelis of its wealthy merchant class, the Marwaris. The
drive to
Shekhawati is through picturesque village and
farms. Nawalgarh was founded in 1737 AD by Thakur Nawal
Singh, a warrior statesman. The town exudes an old world
charm and the colourful bazaar has the largest number of
painted Havelis in Shekhawati. In the late afternoon meet
up at the stables, where the riders will be introduced to
the safari team and the lovely ‘Marwari’ horses and can
also have a ride. The riding leader Shri Devendra Singh
will advise about the horses and give the details about
the tour and introduction talk on the arid region ecology.
Day 3: Nawalgarh
In the morning you will ride on the horses to the country
side. In the afternoon you will visit the havelies.
Day 4: Nawalgarh -
Parasrampura - Lohargal (about 32 kms.)
In the morning you will start with your horse safari to
Lohargal. You will follow a dry riverbed with lots of
Acacia bushes. The view of
Aravali ranges makes the ride
very scenic. In the afternoon you will have lunch near
Parasrampura. After lunch you will move towards the
Aravali mountains. At the foothills of Aravalli’s is the
Pilgrim town of Lohargal. It is said Bhima the strongest
of the five Pandav brothers, had his mace cast here.
Hence, ‘Lohargal’, means iron smelting. This is also a
place of Hindu pilgrimage.
Day 5: Lohargal - Rewasa -
Sujas (about 38 kms.)
In the morning you will ride towards Danta following the
Aravali mountains down a dry riverbed till Raghunathgarh.
The stone quarries of Raghunathgarh have resulted in deep
ravines. Riding through them is a great experience. On the
way, you can have lunch. Later cross the highway and leave
the Sikar district and ride towards a large marshy tract
with Salt Pans. In the evening reach the campsite which is
on a flat area. Overnight stay at the camp.
Day 6: Sujas - Kochor -
Sulyas (Ramgarh) (about 35 kms.)
Today you will have horse safari from Sujas to Sulyas and
pass through semi desert region with lots of Khejri trees
and some farmhouses with mud huts. On the way, you will
have lunch at Kochor Village. The ride goes past the
Roopgarh fort and mountain pass. Overnight stay at the
camp.
Day 7: Sulyas - Ghatwa -
Shyamgarh (about 42 kms.)
Today you will have horse safari from Sulyas to shyamgarh.
On the way, you will pass through village Ghatwa. Here a
famous battle had taken place between Rao Shekha and Gour
Rajputs, where twenty five thousand men laid their lives.
This place is still known as Godati or the area of Gaurs,
the erstwhile rulers. From a high sand dune adjoining the
mountain ranges, you can have a breathtaking view of the
five famous forts of this region. Overnight stay at the
camp.
Day 8: Shyamgarh -
Bhagwanpura - Nawa Salt Lake (about 42 kms.)
In the morning, you will ride towards Nawa Salt Lake. This
ride is the most picturesque part of this Safari. After
lunch you can have ride around this salt lake and enjoy
the beautiful sunset. Overnight stay at the camp.
Day 9: Nawa Salt lake -
Salemabad (about 45 kms.)
Today you will ride through the Salt Lake for 8 to 10 km
and then follow a stony track along mountain ranges till
Paner, where you will have your lunch. After having lunch
you will ride to farming and Sheep County to reach your
camp at Salemabad. This was the territory of the erstwhile
Maharaja State of Kishangarh. The remaining Ajmer region
was ruled directly by the British. Overnight stay at the
camp.
Day 10: Salemabad -
Babicha - Mayapur (about 35 kms.)
Today you will ride through a more fertile land. Most
farmers are from Gujar community with colourful dresses.
After having lunch, you will ride into a valley and pass
through a mountain pass and ravines to reach your last
campsite. Overnight stay at the camp.
Day 11: Mayapur -
Charanwas - Pushkar (about 30 kms.)
Today you will ride till Pushkar.
Pushkar is famous for
typical Pink Indian roses that have a strong aroma. In the
afternoon you will reach Pushkar. Pushkar is known for the
famous Pushkar
fair which takes place in November. During
this fair, traders and pilgrims visit Pushkar for
livestock and camel trading and other festivities. This
fair ends when the people gather at dawn to take a dip in
the holy waters on the night of the Full Moon (Kartik
Poornima). Overnight stay at the camp.
Day 12: Pushkar
In Pushkar enjoy the horse riding. Overnight stay at the
camp.
Day 13: Pushkar - Delhi
In the morning drive to Delhi. In the evening you will
reach Delhi and transfer to the airport for the flight to
home destination.
