Mebar Tsho (Burning Lake)
Mebar Tsho is situated on the way to the Tang village over the
feeder road under Bumthang valley. According to myths holy
scriptures hidden by Guru Rimpoche in the 8th century later
recovered in the 15th century by Pema Lingpa. Mebar Tsho is one
of the most holy places in the region.
Kurje Monastery
Kurjey Monastery, is situated in the Bumthang valley in the
Bumthang district of Bhutan. This is the ultimate resting place
of the remains of the first 3 rulers of Bhutan.
Jakar Dzong
Jakar Dzong is situated nearby the main town of Jakar. It is
the dzong of the Bumthang District in central Bhutan. It is
situated in the Chamkhar valley of Bumthang on a ridge over the
Jakar town.
Jambay Lhakhang
Jambay Lhakhang is one of the two most ancient shrines of
Bhutan, built in the 7th century by Songtsen Gampo, the king of
Tibet. Jambay Lhakhang is situated in Bumthang (Jakar) in
Bhutan, and is considered to be the one of the shrines built by
Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo in 659 AD on a single day, to pin
down an ogress to earth eternally.
Tamshing Lhakhang
Tamshing Lhakhang is the most prominent Nyingmapa shrine
situated in the Bumthang District of central Bhutan. It is the
most famous Shrine of Nyingmapa in Bhutan. The shrine and
monastery are famous for their direct connection to the
Bhutanese saint Pema Lingpa.
Padtshaling Monastery
Padtshaling Monastery was founded in the year 1769 by the first
Padtshaling Tulku Siddha Namgyal Lhendub, as per the prediction
of Lhasa Jowo. |
