Sikkim Jeep Safari Tour includes the visit to Gangtok - the capital town of Sikkim, visit to Buddhist monasteries of Rumtek and Enchey. In this jeep safari we would travel to newly opened area in North Sikkim to Lachung and Yumthang valleys. The jeep safari tour will take us through the deep green valleys and ethnic villages of Sikkim, rivers, water falls, blooming rhododendron forests and snow capped Himalayan peaks. The best season for the jeep safari is during the months of October and November and from March to June.

Day 1: New Delhi
Around midnight arrival in
New Delhi. The cosmopolitan city and capital Delhi is the main gateway for travellers. Upon arrival, you will be met by an Indo Vacations representative and transferred to the hotel.
Day
2: New Delhi - Bagdogra (by air) - Pemayangtse
In the morning we drive to the airport for the flight to Bagdogra. After the arrival in Bagdogra we drive through the forests and tea gardens and proceed to our today's destination Pemayangtse (The perfect Sublime Lotus) in Sikkim. Sikkim is the second smallest state in India.
Sikkim, in the East Himalayas is sandwiched between Nepal to its west and
Bhutan to its east. Sikkim has so rich of flora, fauna and a diverse ethnic and cultural population as no other state in India. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel in
Pemayangtse. In the evening we visit the headquarter of the Nyingama sect in
Pemayangtse.

3: Pemayangtse - Ravangla
Today after having breakfast we drive further to
Kechopari
Lake. Kechopari means the wishing lake. The water in this lake is placid and crystal clear. This lake is situated on the road to Ravangla. After visiting the lake we drive to Ravangla. Enroute visit
Tashiding Monastery. This monastery belongs to Nyingmapa order and is nestled on the top of a hill that looms up between the Rathong river and the Rangit river. After visiting this monastery we drive further to Ravangla. In the evening arrive in
Ravangla.

4: Ravangla - Gangtok
Today we drive from Ravangla to
Gangtok through terraced tea gardens and coniferous forests. The capital of Sikkim
"Gangtok" lies on a ridge overlooking the Ranipool river. Gangtok ("High Hill") lies at an altitude of 1760 m. Gangtok is surrounded by the mountains, especially from Kanchenjunga range. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel in
Gangtok.

5: Gangtok
The main attraction of our excursion remains today the monastery of Rumtek.
Rumtek monastery was built as a true copy of a tibetan monastery in recent years. Rumtek is the headquarter of Red hat sect of
tibetan lamaistic Buddhism. After visiting the monastery we visit the institute of cottage industries. Wide range of local handicrafts in Lepcha style are produced here. In the evening we visit the unique
Research Institute of Tibetology on a hilltop which was established in
1958 to promote research on Tibet and Mahayana Buddhism. Here we will see the biggest collection of tibetan scripts and an excellent collection of rare Tankhas, bronze and cult objects.
Day
6: Gangtok
Today we visit
Tsuk-la-Khang, the royal chapel which is standing on a high bridge. This is the major place of worship and has a large and impressive collection of scriptures. We also visit
Orchid Sanctuary which is laying south of the institute. This sanctuary contains over 450 indigenous species. Sikkim is considered paradise for orchid lovers. After the visit of sanctuary we walk through the bazaar of Gangtok through the area of old palace and visit the monastery Gylwa.

7: Gangtok - Lachung
Today we start our jeep safari excursion and proceed in the north of the state through the coniferous forests and terraced tea gardens to Lachung (2700 m). Upon arrival in Lachung you will be transferred to the hotel in Lachung.
Day 8: Lachung - Yumthang - Lachen
Today we drive in our jeeps to Yumthang. The way from Lachung to Yumthang has a very picturesque landscape and is filled with rhododendrons which blossom at their best in May. Yumthang is situated at an altitude of 12000 feet in North Sikkim. Yumthang is well known for its hot springs. To reach here one has to walk a few hundred yards from the road and cross the bridge on the river Lachung. The
Yumthang hot water spring has high sulphur content. After visiting the springs drive back to the hotel in Lachen which is around 6 kms from Yumthang.

9: Lachen - Lachung
Today again we drive in our jeeps we to the holy
Gurudongmar Lake (5000 m.) near the Tibet border. This lake is the largest and probably the highest in Sikkim. After visiting this lake we drive back to Lachung. In the evening enjoy the local surroundings.
Day
10: Lachung - Gangtok
Today we drive back in our jeeps from Lachung to Gangtok where we will end our jeep safari. The drive from Lachung to Gangtok will be very long. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel in Gangtok.

11: Gangtok - Bagdogra - New Delhi (by air)
Early in the morning after having breakfast we drive to
Bagdogra. In the afternoon we drive to the airport for the flight from Bagdogra to New Delhi. Rooms are available to get refresh before departing for the airport. The rest of the day at leisure. After dinner leave the hotel for the airport.

12: New Delhi
Around midnight flight to home destination.
