India Gate
At the center of New Delhi stands the 42 meter
high India Gate. India Gate is a majestic arch
which stands like archway in the middle of a
crossroad. This place was built as a memorial of
the 70,000 Indian soldiers who lost their lives

Lotus Temple
The Bahai Temple or the Lotus Temple is situated
on the top of the Kalkaji hill in the South Delhi.
This temple has been categorised as the 'Taj Mahal
of the 21st century.' This temple was constructed
in 1980-81. This temple is one of the latest
Baha'i temple in India and joins six other Bahai
temples around the world.

Red Fort
Red Fort or Lal Qila is the Delhi's most
magnificent and oldest monument. The Red Fort was
built by Emperor Shah Jahan in 1648. The emperor
Shah Jahan built this fort on the banks of Jamuna
in Shahjahanabad, the city founded by him which is
now known as Old Delhi.

Jama Masjid
Jama Masjid is the largest mosque in India, and
stands across the road from the Red Fort. This
mosque is located in the centre of the old city on
the top of a large hill. This mosque was built
between 1644 and 1658 by the Mughal emperor Shah

Qutub Minar
The Qutub Complex is a fine example of the
Indo-Islamic style of architecture. The artists
employed by Aibak and Iltutmish were Hindus and
the raw material was also obtained from existing
Hindu and Jain temples. The buildings of the Qutub
Complex are listed in the UNESCO's World Heritage
Sites in India.

Humayun's Tomb
Humayun, the eldest son of Babur, was the second
emperor of the Mughal Empire. Unfortunately, he
was not able to rule for a long time and met with
his untimely death after he fell from the stairs
of the Sher Mandal library. Haji Begum or Bega
Begum, the Queen of Humayun built this tomb in the
memory of his husband.
