In the Balotra Horse Fair Safari Tour we Ride from Jodhpur to the
heartland of the well known Marwari horse to visit largest rustic
horse and cattle fair at Tilwara (Balotra).
The
safari amuses the old magnetism of horseback journey. In the tour we
pass through various beautiful forts, palaces and ancient spots on
the back of the horse while enjoying the views of the deserted
areas, hills, plains etc. In the tour we spend evening in the camp
and enjoy folk music and dances.
Day 01. Flight to India
Today arrival in
Delhi. The cosmopolitan City and capital Delhi is
the main gateway for travelers. You are met by an Indo Vacations representative
and transferred to your Hotel.
Day 02.
Delhi - Jodhpur (by train)
Today day free for leisure at the hotel. In the evening you will be
transferred to railway station for train to Jodhpur. Overnight in
the train.
Day 03.
Jodhpur
Today arrival in
Jodhpur and transfer to the hotel. After a short break and
lunch we drive to the base camp where the safari team and horses and
have arrived from Nawalgarh. Upon arrival at base camps you are
greeted with folk musical presentation and welcome gifts. The
safari-riding leader helps the visitors pick and choose their
horses-riding around the landscape. Overnight stay at Jodhpur.
Day
04. Jodhpur
Today morning sightseeing of Jodhpur. We visit the
Mehrangarh fort, explore parts of the old city of Jodhpur
with car and guide. After the sightseeing we proceed to the base
camp riding in the countryside.
Jodhpur is the second largest city in Rajasthan.
Jodhpur is also known as the blue city as most of the houses of the
old city are painted blue. The old city is surrounded by a huge 10
km long wall which has 101 bastions and seven gates.
Mehrangarh Fort is built on a steep hill and is among the best in
India with exquisitely latticed windows in residential apartments
within.

Day 05.
Jodhpur - Luni - Satlana
Cross
Country Safari begins
Today in
the morning we drive to base camp to start horse safari. The ride
goes through dry flat region. Lunch will be provided on the way.
Each day we ride about 30 kms through the scenic landscapes,
villages and farms. Enroute we also visit the
Luni
River. We also pass through many villages of the Bishnoi
people who are an eco friendly sect of Hindu religion. Overnight
stay at the camp.
Day 06. Satlana - Ghana
Riders go upstream in the huge area of the dry river bed of the Luni
river. The path is very sandy so we move very slowly. After the
sandy path we pass through some villages and dry areas. People are
seen in the areas celebrating the festival of holi with dancing and
drum music. After leaving this area we ride through some protected
shrub land of the Ramdev ji Shrine to reach the campsite. The camp
is situated in a farmer’s field. In the camp we also arrange a
meeting of you with one of the farmers family or other ladies of the
adjacent village in the camp so that you may know about their
culture and lifestyle by interacting with them. Overnight in camp.
Day 07.
Ghana - Karmavas
Today we will ride through dry deserted regions which are arid but
not sandy. Enroute we also spot the clean and properly built clay
dwellings of the villagers. The movement will be west North-west.
The riders reach the camp with low hills of Aravali ranges seen on
the horizon. Unique desert flora will also be seen on the
way. Overnight stay in Camp.
Day 08.
Karmavas - Asotra
Today we will ride on our horses towards the hills and cross the
‘mangla’ village. Enroute we will take lunch in the surroundings of
a small hill facing the dry Luni riverside. After taking lunch we
ride on our horses to
Asotra. Enroute we will spot a green belt around Asotra aquifer
created by the historic saraswati river basin from 2000 BC which
will amaze you. Farmers pump water by electric pumps and raise crops
and we will ride on our horses through this fertile oasis belt.
Afterwards we proceed to our camps which are in the farmer’s
field. We also meet the local villagers and their families.
Overnight stay in Camp.
Day 09.
Asotra - Balotra: Fair
Today we proceed to
Balotra. Till Jasol we go by Jeep. Horse Ride begins from Jasol
to Tilwara village. We will ride about 15 kms. In the evening we
reach Tilwara. We will explore the village and enjoy the fair. In
the evening we enjoy the campfire and folk entertainment.
Day 10.
Balotra: Fair
Today in the morning and evening we have a horse ride. In the
afternoon we will enjoy the fair.
In the evening we enjoy the folk
entertainment and campfire. Overnight stay at the Camp.
Day 11.
Balotra: Fair
Today in the morning and evening we have a horse ride. In the
afternoon we will enjoy the fair.
In the evening we enjoy the folk
entertainment and campfire. Overnight stay at the Camp.
Day 12.
Balotra: Fair - Jodhpur (about 4 hrs) - Delhi
Today in the morning we ride around the fair ground. After lunch we
drive to Jodhpur. Dinner at the hotel Ratan Vilas. Rooms will be
available for Wash & change. Afterwards Later transfer to Railway
station for train to Delhi. Overnight stay at Delhi.
Day 13.
Flight to Home
Around midnight flight from Delhi to home destination.
