Day
01: Flight to India (New Delhi)
Around midnight arrival in
New Delhi. The cosmopolitan city
and capital New Delhi is the main gateway for the travellers to
India.
Upon arrival, you will be met by an Indo Vacations representative and transferred
to the hotel.
Day
02: New Delhi
In the morning we will have sightseeing
of Old Delhi. Sightseeing of Old Delhi includes "Rajghat"
and "Jama Masjid", the great mosque of old Delhi.
Today we also visit the famous "Humayun Tomb"
which is the first substantial example of Mughal
architecture
in India. We will also visit "Qutub Minar" which
is 71 meter high and consists of five stories. In 1199 work
began on this tower, which was intended to be the most glorious
tower of victory in the world. Before we proceed to the
hotel we have a drive through New Delhi where we will visit the
India Gate, Government Buildings and Embassies.
Day
03: New Delhi - Dehradun
In the morning we drive from New Delhi to
Dehradun. Arrive
at Dehradun by the afternoon. Dehradun is situated at an
altitude of 2200 feet above sea level. It is one of the
most developed cities of India having moderate climate.
It is named after Guru Dronacharya - a great teacher in
Mahabharat epic. The
Doon Valley is situated between the
two most important rivers of India. i.e.
Ganga &
Yamuna,
is most picturesque having moderate climate, nestling a
number of places of tourist interest. In the evening we
will visit the places situated nearby, which are Sahastradhara
(14 km). Sahastra Dhara is noted for its astounding beauty
and the medicinal sulphur waterfalls are a great attraction.
Robbers Cave (8 km), Forest Research Institute (5 km),
Tapkeshwar
Temple (5.5 km),
Laxman Sidh (12 km) and
Malsi Deer Park
(9 km) are also the worth visiting places.
Day
04: Dehradun - Mori
In the morning after the breakfast, we will drive to Mori
village and collect there for a safety briefing. Afterwards
we will board rafts for a short raft trip till Khunigad.
Evening free for leisure.
Day
05: Mori - Miagad - Kedar Kantha
Today, in the morning after the breakfast, we will take
a short drive to Miagad and begin the trek to
Kedar Kantha.
By the afternoon we will reach the top of Kedar Kantha.
We will spend the whole day and have a camp there only.
Day
06: Kedar Kantha - Tons River
Today, in the morning after the breakfast, we will return
to our base camp on the banks of the Tons River in the western
part of Uttaranchal, in the
Jaunsar Bawar region. Tons River
is located at 3500 feet above sea level. This area is rich
in every type of western
Himalayan flora and fauna, densely
forested with Deodar, Pine, Alpine Oak, Birch, Chestnut,
Rhododendron and Jamun. Tons River is the biggest tributary
of the Yamuna with its source in the snowfields of the
20,720 feet
high mountain, Bandarpunch. This river offers an excellent
adrenaline rush and adds to the excitement of being in the
outdoors. River rafting on the Tons River is very exciting
and full of enthusiasm. It will be a wonderful experience
for the river rafters. Spend the whole day enjoying the
river rafting.
Day
07: Tons River - Mori - Dehradun
In the morning after the breakfast, we will drive to Mori.
After having our lunch we will drive further to Dehradun.
Evening free for leisure.
Day
08: Dehradun - New Delhi
In the morning after having our breakfast we will drive
to New Delhi. Evening free at leisure. After dinner
we leave the hotel for the airport.
Day 09: New Delhi
Around midnight flight to home destination.
