Day
01: Flight to India (New Delhi)
Around midnight arrival in
New Delhi. The cosmopolitan city
and capital New Delhi is the main gateway for travellers to
India.
Upon arrival, you will be met by an Indo Vacations representative and transferred
to the hotel.
Day
02: New Delhi
In the morning we will have sightseeing
of Old Delhi. Sightseeing of Old Delhi includes "Rajghat"
and "Jama Masjid", the great mosque of old Delhi.
Today we also visit the famous "Humayun Tomb"
which is the first substantial example of Mughal
architecture
in India. We will also visit "Qutub Minar" which
is 71 meter high and consists of five stories. In 1199 work
began on this tower, which was intended to be the most glorious
tower of victory in the world. Before we proceed to the
hotel we will drive through New Delhi where we will visit the
India Gate, Government Buildings and Embassies.
Day
03: New Delhi - Manali
In the morning after breakfast drive straight to reach
Manali.
Upon arrival you are met by an Indo Vacations representative
and transferred to your hotel. Manali is situated near the
end of the valley on the National Highway leading to
Leh.
The landscape here is breath taking. One can see spectacular
views of well-defined snowcapped peaks and wooded slopes.
The Beas River rushes along its rocky course amid grassy
meadows carpeted with wild flowers and wagtails hop along
from stone to stone along the stream's edge. On the other
side are deodar and pine trees, tiny fields and fruit orchards.
It is an excellent place for a holiday, a favorite resort
for trekkers to various regions in
Kashmir valley. It is
known as the Switzerland of India. In the evening we will have sightseeing
in Manali. We will visit
Hadimba Devi Temple, Vashisht Hot
Water Spring, Naggar castle and Arjun cave.
Day
04: Manali - Marrhi (36 km)
Today we will begin our mountain biking tour from Manali.
From Manali we will bike towards Rallah Falls. We have lunch
at Kothi. Then we bike towards Marrhi. Arrive in Marrhi
by evening. We wil spend night in Marrhi.
Day
05: Marrhi - Rohtang Pass - Jispa
Today in the morning after having our breakfast we leave
Marrhi. From Marrhi we will bike towards
Gondla. We will
also cross Rohtang Pass, which is situated at a height of
3980 m. Rohtang Pass is an adventurer's dream destination,
situated at an altitude of about 4000 metres, this pass
is the gateway to the
Lahual region from Manali. A trek
to and beyond the pass makes a trekker's dream come true.
Also, we could find a couple of stud farmers and their beautiful
pets grazing through the lush green meadows. We have lunch
at Gondla. Then we bike towards
Jispa via
Keylong. Arrive
in Jispa by evening. We will spend night in Jispa.
Day
06: Jispa - Kunzam Pass - Spiti
Today in the morning after having our breakfast we leave
Jispa. Then we will gear up to bike 50km uphill to cross
the famous Kunzam Pass (4551m). Kunzam provides chief access
to Lahaul valley by the great Kunzam range. The lofty
Shigri
Glacier can be seen in all its grandeur. The Panorama as
viewed from the top of the Pass is enthralling and inspiring.
There is a temple dedicated to
Kali, known as Kunzam Devi.
Rahul was the son of Buddha and the name Lahaul is derived
from Rahul. After visiting the temple we bike towards the
Spiti Valley, home to some of the world's oldest Buddhist
monasteries. Spiti is the sub division of Lahaul and Spiti
district with its headquarters at Kaza. It is called "Little
Tibet" because it has almost the same terrain, vegetation
& climate. Spiti also means "Middle Country".
It lies between Tibet,
Ladakh,
Kinnaur, Lahaul & Kulu.
The Spiti River flows fast through deep gorges at some places.
The valley is not wide but there are villages and some fields.
By the evening we will arrive in Spiti. We will spend night
in Spiti.

07: Spiti - Kibber
Today in the morning after having our breakfast we leave
Spiti. Then we will gear up to bike uphill and cross the
village Kibber, the highest village in the valley. There
are a large number of gompas in this valley but it has also
some important and famous monasteries. We will visit these
monasteries like Kye Monastery,
Dhankar Monastery,
Tabo
Monastery.
Kye Monastery is the oldest and biggest monastery
of the valley and located at a height of 4116 m above Kye
village. It houses beautiful scriptures and paintings of
Buddha and other goddesses. Dhankar Monastery is stuated
in the Dhankar village which was earlier the capital of
Spiti Kingdom. This monastery has about 100 Lamas and has
some Buddhist scriptures in Bhoti language. Principal figure
is a Statue of " Vairochana" (Dhayan Budha) consisting
of 4 complete figures seated back to back. It has relics
in the shape of paintings and
sculptures. Tabo Monastery
belongs to the tenth century. It is a famous gompa next
to Tholing Gompa in
Tibet. It has about 60 Lamas and a large
collection of Scriptures, wall paintings etc. Murals of
this gompa have a great similarity to that of the Ajanta
paintings. Evening free for leisure and relaxation.
Day
08: Kibber - Sangla - Chitkul
Today in the morning after having our breakfast we leave
Kibber village and gear up to bike uphill and move towards
Sangla valley. It is a picturesque drive through winding
mountain roads. The topography changes constantly - conifers,
terraced fields, huts perched precariously in the middle
of nowhere on distant ridges, the
Sutlej River hurtling
across the valley. Then we will have the first hint of snow
clad Himalayan peaks as we came near Karcham, which is about 18
km short of Sangla Valley. Sangla Valley is located in Kinnaur
district of Himachal Pradesh in the northern
Himalayas of
India. From Sangla valley we will drive to Chitkul.
Day
09: Chitkul - Shimla
Today in the morning after having our breakfast we leave
Chitkul and gear up to bike uphill and move towards Shimla.
Our biking tour will end here at
Shimla. The British called
Shimla the "Queen of Hill Stations." Shimla is
situated in the northwest Himalayas. It was the summer capital
of India before independence and it is now the capital of
Himachal Pradesh. Shimla derives its name from "Shyamala"
the goddess Kali, whose temple existed in the dense forest
that covered
Jakhu Hill in the early 19th century. Its well-developed
facilities, easy accessibility and numerous attractions
make it one of Indian's most popular and biggest hill-stations.
There are various places of Interest in and around Shimla,
which are The Mall, Christ Church, Jakhu Hill, Shimla State
Museum etc. We will visit these places. Evening free to
visit the local market.
Day
10: Shimla - Chandigarh
Today in the morning after having our breakfast we leave
Shimla and drive further to
Chandigarh. Chandigarh is known
as the modern city of India. In the afternoon we have sightseeing
in Chandigarh. Evening free for leisure.
Day
11: Chandigarh - New Delhi
In the morning after having our breakfast we will drive
to New Delhi. Evening free at leisure (opportunity for the
last shopping or enjoy a massage in the Hotel) After having
dinner we leave the hotel for the airport.
Day
12: New Delhi
Around midnight flight to home destination.
