the Mount Siniolchu, considered by many as the most beautiful
peak in the entire Himalayan range. You can also take a flight
over Gangtok and get a comprehensive view of the layout of the
town with its many winding roads and alleys.
Special flights are also conducted over
West Sikkim and North Sikkim for a bird's eye view of the
monasteries and the exotic Valley of Flowers. All passengers
on these sightseeing flights are awarded official Certificates
of Participation by STDC as Souvenirs.
West Sikkim Flight
The West Sikkim Flight starts from Gangtok and covers Singtam,
Geyzing, Yuksom and Dikchu and later flights back to Gangtok.
The main attractions covered during this flight are Rumtek
monastery, Temi Tea Garden, Rabang or Maenam Hill, Tashiding
Monastery, Pemayangtse Monastery, Waterfalls near Yuksom and
Khangchendzonga range. The duration of the flight is of 60
minutes.
Yumthang Flight
The Yumthang Flight starts from Gangtok and covers Mangan,
along Teesta river to Chungthang, Lachung and Yumthang and
later flights back to Gangtok. The main attractions covered
during this flight are Lachung monastery, Waterfalls and lake
near Lachung, lush green valley of Yumthang and
Khangchendzonga range. The duration of the flight is of 70
minutes.
Khangchendzonga Flight
The Khangchendzonga Flight starts from Gangtok and covers
Mangan, Chungthang, Lachen, Zemu glacier, Green lake and later
flights back to Gangtok via Lachen. The main attractions
covered during this flight are Lachen monastery, Teesta Valley
between Mangan and Lachen, Stark beauty of Zemu glacier and
green lake, packed ice contours or crevices at tha base of
Khangchendzonga and close up view of Khangchendzonga range.
The duration of the flight is of 90 minutes.
Gangtok Flight
The Gangtok Flight starts from Gangtok and covers the whole of
Gangtok area. The main attractions of the site are the
Khangchendzonga range, Rumtek Monastery and Gangtok Ridge. The
duration of the flight is of 20 minutes.
Important Points to be considered while taking the Sikkim Helicopter Service
All flights can be customized to a lesser duration and the
fare can be adjusted accordingly.
Flights will be operated between 0700 and 1200 hours every
day. Departure timings are flexible to suit passenger
requirement.
Flight bookings should be made well in advance and must be
confirmed before the departing day.
In case of bad weather necessitating flight cancellation,
passengers will be entitled to full refund.
During the Khangchendzonga flight, the helicopter will be
flying upto an altitude of 17000 feet. Oxygen is available on
board. Snow goggles are recommended.
Passengers are requested to be present at the Gangtok Helipad
25 minutes before Departure time. |
