Day 01: Flight to India (Delhi)
Around midnight arrival in Delhi. Upon arrival, you will be
met by our representative and transferred to the hotel.
Day 02: Delhi
The whole day is at leisure either to have sightseeing in
Delhi or just relax.
Day 03: Delhi - Bagdogra (by air) - Darjeeling
In the morning after breakfast you will drive to the airport
for a flight to Bagdogra, set on the foothills of Darjeeling.
Upon arrival, you will be met by an Indo Vacations
representative and proceed north of the state through the
coniferous forests and terraced tea gardens and arrive in
Darjeeling.
Day 04: Darjeeling - Tonglu - Phalut - Pemayangtse
Today in the morning after breakfast from Darjeeling you will
set off on motor biking tour that will give you a glimpse of
world's highest mountain peak - the Mount Everest and other
Himalayan giants. You will ride past the villages of Tonglu,
Sandakphu and Phalut and from here the great peaks will begin
to play hide and seek with us. It's hard to describe the
experience of riding along, with the snowy peaks of Everest,
Lhotse, Makalu and Kanchenjunga. You will bike through the
forests and tea gardens and proceed to Pemayangtse (The
perfect Sublime Lotus). Evening free for leisure and
relaxation.
Day 05: Pemayangtse - Gangtok (about 120 km)
Today in the morning after breakfast from Pemayangtse you will
drive to Gangtok. Today, you will visit Tsuk-la-Khang, the
royal chapel that is standing on a high bridge. You will also
visit the institute of cottage industries, which is an
attraction as a wide range of local handicrafts in Lepcha
style are produced here.
Day 06: Gangtok
Today you will drive to the monastery of Enchey. This
monastery is believed to be 200 years old. The monks of this
monastery belong to the Mahayana Buddhism. After the visit of
Enchey monastery you will proceed to Martham Village Resort,
where you will have afternoon at leisure. Here one can have
nice walks or have a ride on the local horses of this area.
Day 07: Gangtok
Today you will visit the unique Research Institute of
Tibetology on a hilltop, which was established in 1958 to
promote research on Tibet and Mahayana Buddhism. You will also
visit orchid Sanctuary which is lying south of the institute.
This sanctuary contains over 450 indigenous species. After the
visit of sanctuary you will walk through the bazaar of Gangtok
through the area of old palace and visit the monastery Gylwa.
The main attraction of your excursion remains today the
monastery of Rumtek.
Day 08: Gangtok - Darjeeling (100 km)
After the breakfast you will proceed north of the state
through the coniferous forests and terraced tea gardens and
arrive in Darjeeling. Evening free for leisure.
Day 09: Darjeeling - Bagdogra - Delhi (by air)
Very early in the morning you will drive to Tiger Hill to
enjoy the sunrise at the Tiger hill. Tiger hill (2590 m.) is
the highest point in this area. From Darjeeling you will drive
back to Bagdogra. In the afternoon you will drive to the
airport for a flight to New Delhi. Rest of the day at leisure.
After dinner you will leave the hotel for the Airport.
Day 10: Delhi (Departure)
Around midnight flight back to the home destination.
