Spiti Valley, home to some of the world's oldest Buddhist
monasteries. Spiti is the sub division of Lahaul and Spiti
district with its headquarters at Kaza. It is called "Little
Tibet" because it has almost the same terrain, vegetation
& climate. Spiti also means "Middle Country".
                      It lies between Tibet,

                    Kinnaur, Lahaul & Kulu.
The Spiti River flows fast through deep gorges at some places.

village Kibber, the highest village in the valley. There
are a large number of gompas in this valley but it has also
some important and famous monasteries. We will visit these
                      monasteries like Kye Monastery,
                    Dhankar Monastery,
                    Tabo
                      Monastery.
Kye Monastery is the oldest and biggest monastery
of the valley and located at a height of 4116 m above Kye
village. It houses beautiful scriptures and paintings of
Buddha and other goddesses. Dhankar Monastery is stuated
in the Dhankar village which was earlier the capital of
Spiti Kingdom. This monastery has about 100 Lamas and has
some Buddhist scriptures in Bhoti language. Principal figure
is a Statue of " Vairochana" (Dhayan Budha) consisting
of 4 complete figures seated back to back. It has relics
in the shape of paintings and
                    sculptures. Tabo Monastery
belongs to the tenth century. It is a famous gompa next
                      to Tholing Gompa in
Tibet. It has about 60 Lamas and a large
collection of Scriptures, wall paintings etc. Murals of
this gompa have a great similarity to that of the Ajanta
paintings. Evening free for leisure and relaxation.

Kibber village and gear up to bike uphill and move towards
Sangla valley. It is a picturesque drive through winding
mountain roads. The topography changes constantly - conifers,
terraced fields, huts perched precariously in the middle
of nowhere on distant ridges, the
                    Sutlej River hurtling
across the valley. Then we will have the first hint of snow
clad Himalayan peaks as we came near Karcham, which is about 18
km short of Sangla Valley. Sangla Valley is located in Kinnaur

the goddess Kali, whose temple existed in the dense forest
                      that covered
Jakhu Hill in the early 19th century. Its well-developed
facilities, easy accessibility and numerous attractions
make it one of Indian's most popular and biggest hill-stations.
There are various places of Interest in and around Shimla,
which are The Mall, Christ Church, Jakhu Hill, Shimla State
