Day 1: Flight to Kolkata (India)
Arrival in Kolkata airport. Kolkata (formerly known as Calcutta). Kolkata is India’s largest city and one of the biggest city in south Asia. This city was one of the earliest colonial city of British in India. Upon arrival, you will be met by an Indo Vacations representative and transferred to the hotel.

Day 2: Kolkata
Today we explore this vibrant and lively city during the whole day tour. We visit the Victoria Memorial and magnificent buildings in the area of Chowringhee and Dalhousie Square. We also visit the Jain Temple and the Fort Williams. In the area of Joransanko we have the opportunity to visit the family house of the famous Indian writer Rabindranath Tagore.

Day 3: Kolkata – Dibrugarh (by air)
Flight to Dibrugarh. Meet and assist and transfer to your hotel. Evening at the local market.

Day 4: Dibrugarh – Mon, 150 km/ 5 hours
Morning drive to Mon in northern Nagaland. (Please note we are giving the tea tour at the end of the trip) Check into Cottage/ Hotel, basic but comfortable. Afternoon visit the nearby Mon village. Because of its remoteness, the Konyak Naga tribe here is more traditional than tribes in the other parts.

Day 5: Day trip to Longwa, 35 km one way
Drive to Longwa in the India-Myanmar border. The village straddles the territories of both India and Myanmar. Experience the rural atmosphere where you will see long palm roofed Konyak houses, old village folk with tattoos on their faces and bodies.

Day 7: Mon – Dibrugarh
Drive back to Dibrugarh in Assam

Day 8: Ferry across River Brahmaputra – Pasighat, 1 hour ferry + 130 km/ 4 hours drive
Morning board a ferry and sail across the mighty River Brahmaputra. Then drive upto Pasighat. On the way and just before reaching Pasighat we will stop at an Adi inyong tribal village, the first of many in Arunachal Pradesh. The houses are built with bamboo with palm leaf or thatch roofs. The tribe is agrarian and practice wet rice cultivation. On arrival check into Hotel.

Day 9: Pasighat – Along, 140 km/ 6 hours
Drive to Along, this journey is perhaps the most scenic on this tour with the Siang River to your right most of the time and the beautiful Himalayan foothills. Stop at a long cane and bamboo hanging bridge and have a picnic lunch. Check into your hotel on arrival.

Day 10: Along
Full day at Aalo including a walk from one Adi tribal village to another going through a hanging bridge. Evening enjoy a local meal at a village while some of the villagers welcome you with a traditional dance. Return to your hotel.

Day 11: Along – Daporijo, 160 km/ 6 hours
Drive to Daporijo, on the way stop at Tagin and Hill Miri tribal villages. Check into Hotel on arrival. Evening at the interesting local market.

Day 12: Daporijo:
Day trip to the Tagin tribal village of Sippi. We walk in the village looking and interacting with the villagers. The Tagins practice polygamy and were a hunter-gatherer race. Their villages are small and scattered across a large area.

Day 13: Daporijo – Ziro, 160 km/ 6 hours
Drive to Ziro. At 5000 ft this is the highest place on this tour. Afternoon visit Apatani tribal villages, local market. Overnight at Hotel / Resort.

Day 14: Ziro
Whole day at Ziro visiting Apatani tribal villages. Ziro is one of the most traditional areas in Arunachal Pradesh. It is home to the Apatani tribe located on a plateau surrounded by pine-covered mountains. The Apatani tribes themselves are Ziro's greatest attraction. The older men-folk tie the hair in top-knots and tattoo the faces. Apatani women wears wooden nose plugs and also tattoo their faces. The Apatanis are good cultivators and practice both wet and terrace cultivation. Paddy (wet rice cultivation) with fish culture is very popular among them.

Day 15: Ziro
One more day at Ziro to complete the village visits and also the visits to the craft center and the small but interesting museum.

Day 16: Ziro – Majuli Island, 200 km drive/ 45 min ferry
Drive 200 km/ 6 hour to the river front, take a ferry to Majuli Island, the culture center of Assam. Visit Hindu monasteries or ‘satras’. Interact with the ‘bhakats’ or monks, know about their practices and way of living. Overnight at Cottages, simple but comfortable with attached bath and WC.

Day 17: Majuli Island
Walk, cycle through this pristine environment visiting satras and villages and learn more about this unique culture. Visit a village inhabited by Mishing tribe, interact with the people. PM visit pottery/mask making village. Enjoy an enchanting monastic dance in one of the Satras. Dinner and overnight.

Day 18: Majuli Island
One more day in the island – early morning today we go over to a pristine area with a water body to look for birds. In the afternoon we visit another Satra and a village of the Deori tribe.

Day 19: Majuli Island – Kaziranga National Park, 2 hrs ferry/ 1 and ½ hr drive
Take another ferry to Neematighat and drive on to Kaziranga. Check into your lodge on arrival. After lunch we go for a jeep safari in the least visited eastern range. It is virtually a paradise for bird watchers, with a variety of migratory and resident birds. It is also home to eagles, ducks, storks, cormorants and darters. Return to lodge, dinner and overnight.

Day 20: Kaziranga National Park
Rise early and drive short distance to the central range of the park to ride on elephant back. The mahouts will steer the elephants close to where the rhinos are and also to other parts where you can see herds of Asiatic Water Buffalo and swamp deer, hog deer and in the midst of it all, if you are lucky you might even spot the tiger! The central range also harbours the very rare and endangered Bengal Florican.
Return to the lodge for breakfast. Mid morning you have the option of visiting a tribal village. Lunch at the lodge and in the afternoon we board 4 wheel drive open jeeps for a safari in the western range of the park. Return to the Lodge at dusk. Dinner and overnight.

Day 21: Kaziranga National Park – Dibrugarh, 240 km/ 5 hours
After an early breakfast we go for a jeep safari in the central range and proceed straight to Dibrugarh. On the way visit Sivasagar, 70 km, 2 hours. Visit the 17th/ 18th Century AD ruins of the Ahom Kings who had ruled Assam for 600 hundred years. Rang Ghar, Talatal Ghar and the Shiva Temple is evidence of the Ahom’s architectural forte. The Ahoms who came from Thailand ij nsearch of a better life could subjugate the fractionate Assamese chieftains and win over the confidence of the Assamese people as a whole, and in turn, they themselves embraced Hinduism and started erecting Hindu Temples and excavated huge tanks by the temples. We will see one such tank, believed to be one of the largest hand excavated tanks in the world, beside the Shiva Temple.
Continue east to the town of Dibrugarh that lies 80 km from Sivasagar. Check into the heritage tea bungalow, Mancotta. In the afternoon visit a tea garden, take a tea tour looking at various facets of tea manufacturing. Walk in the local bazaar in the evening.

Day 22: Day trip to Nam Phake village, 60 km/ 2 hrs one way
Visit an interesting village of the Tai-Phake tribe near Dibrugarh. This indigenous people had their roots in Thailand and they still speak a dialect of their ancient land and retain their customs and traditions. They are Buddhists and the Pagoda in their village holds pride of place. You will be met by a village elder who will take you around the village telling you stories of their ancestors. Visit the Pagoda and the chief monk. Return to Dibrugarh

Day 23: Dibrugarh – Kolkata (by air)
Flight to Kolkata. Arrival in Kolkata airport and transfer to your Hotel.

Day 24: Flight to Home
Transfer to Kolkata airport for flight to home. (End of our services)
