Day 04:
Poshina - Dasada (about
215 km / 4½
hours)
Travel from Poshina to Radhanpur where a community museum offers
information about the pastoral groups of northern Gujarat like the
Ahirs, Rabaris and Jaths. Continue to Dasada village. Dasada's Mirs
are a semi-nomadic community that works as agricultural labour.
Colourfully dressed and sporting chunky ornaments, this group's
forte is beadwork. At Dasada and its nearby villages you can meet
pastoral groups like the Rabaris and the Bharwads. Stay at Rann
Riders.
Day 05:
Dasada
Drive in the salt desert of the Little Rann of Kutch - visit the
salt works, the Wild Ass Sanctuary and bird-rich wetlands.
Jhinjawada is a historic walled village at the edge of the desert
with remains of a 12th century fort and an old stepwell. Stay at
Rann Riders.
Day 06:
Dasada - Kutch (about
350 km / 7
hours)
Travel from Dasada to Bhuj, visiting Ahir, Rabari and craft villages
enroute. Just north of Bhuj, the Kutch Wilderness Kamp offers a
splendid location by the Rudramata lake.
Day 07:
Kutch
Visit the villages of the Meghwals and the Islamic pastoral groups (Mutwas,
Jaths, etc). Though Kutch is now a big tourist magnet, some of these
villages still retain their traditional culture. Stay at Kutch
Wilderness Kamp.
Day 08:
