Day 01: Arrival in New Delhi

Around midnight arrival in
New Delhi. The cosmopolitan city and capital Delhi is the main gateway for travelers to India. Upon arrival, you will be met by an Indo Vacations representative and transferred to the hotel.

Day 02: New Delhi - Chandigarh
In the morning after having breakfast we will drive to Chandigarh. Chandigarh, derives its name from the Chandi Mandir temple located in the vicinity of the city and a fort or ‘garh" beyond the temple, called Chandigarh. Chandigarh is a Union Territory, administered by the Government of India. The city was designed by Le Corbusier. In the evening arrive in Chandigarh and transfer to the hotel. 

Day 03: Chandigarh - Mandi

Today we drive from Chandigarh to Mandi. The historic town of Mandi (800 m) is built along the banks of the River Beas. It has long been an important commercial centre, and the sage Mandvya is said to have meditated here. It is also the district head quarters. Mandi is renowned for its 81 old stone temples and their enormous range of fine carvings and is often called the `Varanasi of the Hills'. The town also has the remains of old palaces and notable examples of colonial architecture.

Day 04: Mandi
Today we visit the various temples in Mandi. Mandi is known for its famous Bhootnath Temple. This temple is located in the heart of the city. This temple is as old as the town itself and dates back to the 1520. In March, the festival of Mahashivratri is mainly celebrated in the Bhootnath temple in Mandi. The major temple in Mandi is the Syamakali Temple. This temple is also called the temple of Terna Devi. This temple is built high on the Tarna Hill which rises above the town. In the 17th century this temple was built by Raja Syama Sen after a particularly trying time when the goddess gave him success. The other places of sightseeing in Mandi are the Rani Amri Kaur Park, the District Library Building and the Empress Bridge.

Day 05: Mandi - Manali
In the morning after having breakfast we drive to
Manali. The landscape here is breath taking. One can see spectacular views of well-defined snowcapped peaks and wooded slopes. The Beas River rushes along its rocky course amid grassy meadows carpeted with wild flowers and wagtails hop along from stone to stone along the stream's edge. On the other side are deodar and pine trees, tiny fields and fruit orchards. It is an excellent place for a holiday, a favorite resort for trekkers to various regions in Kashmir valley. It is known as the Switzerland of India. In the evening arrive in Manali.

Day 06: Manali
In the morning we will have sightseeing in Manali. Today we will visit Hidimba Devi Temple, Vashisht Hot Water Spring and Monastery.
Hidimba Devi temple was built in 1553. This temple has a superbly crafted four-tiered pagoda roof and famous for its exquisitely carved doorway. Vashishth Hot Water Springs are the well known hot water springs. There are old temples dedicated to the sage Vashishth and Lord Rama. In the evening we visit a small Tibetan monastery which houses several Buddha images and Rahella Falls. It is a beautiful picturesque site from where the Beas river falls drown from the height of 50 meters above sea level.

Day 07: Manali - Losar
Today we drive from Manali to Losar. Losar is situated at an altitude of 3800 meters above sea level. On the way we cross over Rohtang pass and Kunzum La pass before we descend down to the Spiti valley. Overnight stay in camp.

Day 08: Losar - Kaza
Today we drive from Losar to Kaza. Kaza is the head quarter of Spiti sub-division. Kaza houses a Buddhist monastery. Spiti fair is held here every year in the month of August. In the evening we visit Kibber and Key monasteries. Key is about 7 km. from Kaza and is an ancient monastery. This is situated on the hill top at an altitude of 4116 m. Kibber is the highest motor able village in the world at an altitude of 4205 m. Overnight stay in camp.

Day 09: Kaza - Tabo
In the morning after having breakfast we drive to Tabo. Tabo is the ancient cultural hub of Spiti. It houses the most famous monastery of Himachal Pradesh. Tabo is the largest monastery complex of Buddhist religion. This has been declared as a protected monument. It has sculptures, stucco images and wall painting which are similar to the Ajanta-Ellora paintings. It is situated on the left bank of Spiti River at an attitude of 3050 m.

Day 10: Tabo
In the morning we visit the most famous Monastery in Tabo. This monastery is about 1000 years old and treated as the most sacred monastery next only to Tholling Gompa in Tibet. After visiting the monastery we visit the temples. The temples are built in the West-Tibetan style. The inner wall of the temples are covered by frescoes and painting from Buddha's life. Often referred as `Ajanta of Himalayas' Tabo's paintings are still preserved in most original form.

Day 11: Tabo - Peo
Today we drive from Tabo to Peo. Peo is located at a height of 2,670 meters above sea level. Recong Peo is the Head quarters of the district Kinnaur. It offers a fine view of the Kinner Kailash.

Day 12: Peo - Sarahan
In the morning after breakfast we drive to Sarahan. Sarahan lies in Sirmour district of Himachal Pradesh at a height of 4500 feet on the Nahan-Shimla highway. It is basically a unique all-weather hill station. Its location and characteristics are beautiful enough to attract any visitor. It is important to note that Sarahan valley experiences snowfall too, which is very rare and unique because mountain heights in the bracket of 4500 ft. seldom receive snowfall. Sarahan is a very beautiful village, which gives a breadth taking view of the mighty Himalayan ranges. Sarahan valley has the famous "Bhima Kali temple" which is 800 years old and a splendid piece of architecture. In the evening we will visit this temple and explore the surroundings of the Sarahan valley. We will spend night in Sarahan.

Day 13: Sarahan - Shimla
In the morning we drive towards
Shimla. The British called Shimla the "Queen of Hill Stations." Shimla is situated in the northwest Himalayas. It was the summer capital of India before independence and it is now the capital of Himachal Pradesh. Shimla derives its name from "Shyamala" the goddess Kali, whose temple existed in the dense forest that covered Jakhu Hill in the early 19th century. Its well-developed facilities, easy accessibility and numerous attractions make it one of Indian's most popular and biggest hill-stations. There are various places of interest in and around Shimla, which are The Mall, Christ Church, Jakhu Hill, Shimla State Museum etc. In the evening we will visit the local market and all these places.

Day 14: Shimla - New Delhi
In the morning we drive from Shimla to New Delhi. Rest of the day free for leisure. In the night transfer to the airport.

Day 15: Flight to Home
Around midnight flight to home destination.
