Day 01: Delhi (Arrival)
Around midnight arrival in Delhi. Upon arrival, you will be
transferred to your Hotel.
Day 02: Delhi - Bagdogra (by air) - Pemayangtse
(about 80 km)
Today you will leave Delhi and transfer to the airport for the
flight to Bagdogra. From Bagdogra, you will drive through the
forests and tea gardens and proceed to Pemayangtse (The
perfect Sublime Lotus). Here you will visit the headquarter of
the Nyingama sect in Pemayangtse.
Day 03: Pemayangtse
Day at leisure.
Day 04: Pemayangtse - Gangtok (about 120 km)
Today you will drive to Gangtok. Gangtok, the capital of
Sikkim lies on a ridge overlooking the Ranipool river. Here
you will visit Tsuk-la-Khang, the royal chapel which is
standing on a high bridge. This is the major place of worship
and has a large and impressive collection of scriptures. You
will also visit the institute of cottage industries which is
an attraction as a wide range of local handicrafts in Lepcha
style are produced here.
Day 05: Gangtok Excursion: Enchey monastery
Today you will drive to the monastery of Enchey. This
monastery is believed to be 200 years old. The monks of this
monastery belong to the Mahayana Buddhism. After the visit of
Enchey monastery you will proceed to Martham Village Resort,
where you will have afternoon at leisure. Here one can have
nice walks or have a ride on the local horses of this area.
Day 06: Gangtok – Bagdogra - New Delhi (by air) -
Kathmandu (by air)
Today you will leave Gangtok and drive to Bagdogra for flight
to New Delhi. After arrival in New Delhi flight to Kathmandu.
Rest of the day at leisure in Kathmandu.
Day 07: Kathmandu Excursion: Swayambhunath, Bodnath,
Pashupatinath
In the morning you will start your sightseeing by visiting
Durbar Square. Durbar Square is the spiritual heart of
Kathmandu. The old royal palace at the centre of the city was
surrounded by temples and other important buildings. You will
also visit the temple of living goddess Kumari. After visiting
Durbar Square you will visit Swayambhunath. Swayambhunath
Stupa is famous for the eyes of Buddha which seem to observing
the world from all 4 directions. After Swayambhunath you will
visit Bodnath. Bodnath is the largest Stupa of Nepal. Around
the octagonal base of Stupa there are 108 images of Buddha
where prayer ceremonies of Buddhist Lamas are taking place
since over 2000 years. Now you will proceed to the temple city
of Pashupatinath which is Nepal’s most important Hindu pilgrim
site on the banks of the Bagmati river. The temple of
Pashupatinath is dedicated to god Shiva.
Day 08: Kathmandu Excursion: Patan, Bhaktapur
Today you will drive to Patan. Patan was the second largest
town in the valley but it has been absorbed into Kathmandu.
Patan was previously known as Lalitpur (the beautiful city).
After Patan you will proceed to Bhaktapur, the third biggest
city of the valley. Bhaktapur has preserved its medieval
character better than Patan. Here, you will visit the golden
door, the Palace of 55 windows (15th century) and Pagoda
Nyatapola (18th century).
Day 09: Kathmandu Excursion: Dakshinkali
Today you will drive to Dakshinkali. On the way you will pass
through the villages and small localities. The temple of
Dakshinkali is a place of pilgrimage for Hindus where animals
sacrifices for the goddess Kali are still performed.
Day 10: Kathmandu - Delhi (by air)
In the morning flight to Delhi. After arrival in New Delhi
transfer to the airport for the flight to home destination.
Day 11: Delhi (Departure)
Around midnight flight to home destination.
