Day 01: Flight to India (Delhi)
Around midnight arrival in Delhi. Upon arrival, you will be
met by our representative and transferred to the hotel.
Day 02: Delhi - Kolkata (by air)
In the morning you will have a flight from Delhi to Kolkata.
By the afternoon, arrival in Guwahati. Upon arrival you will
be transferred to the hotel.
Day 03: Kolkata - Sunderbans National Park
In the morning from Kolkata we will drive to Basanti Port for
Sundarbans National Park. From Basanti by a motor launch you
will move towards Sunderbans National Park. "Sunderbans" means
beautiful tigers. Sunderbans with their mangrove swamps
covering around 2500 square km in the Ganga Brahmaputra delta
spread across to Bangladesh. These are the largest estuarine
forests in the world. This reserve has over 200 Bengal tigers,
Spotted Deer, Wild Boar, Monkeys, Snakes and Crocodiles. You
will visit the park in a motor launch.
Day 04: Sunderbans National Park
You will have a full day cruise through mangrove creeks for
wildlife viewing and bird watching.
Day 05: Sunderbans National Park - Kolkata
In the morning you will visit Ravindranath Tagore Society to
see the rural development project. Return back to Basanti Port
by the afternoon. From Basanti Port you will drive to Kolkata.
Arrive in Kolkata by the evening.
Day 06: Kolkata - Dibrugarh - Namdapha National Park
Today you will drive further to visit Namdapha National Park.
This park is situated in Arunachal Pradesh in the extreme
north east of India. Its avifauna is a unique blend of
Himalayan, Sino-Tibetan and Indo-Burmese forms. Although not
thoroughly explored, 665 species of bird have been recorded
within the state. Fabulous species such as Blyth Tragopan,
Wardsa Trogon, Rufous necked Hornbill, Blue-Naped Pitta,
Wedge-billed wren Babbler, Snowy throated Babbler and
beautiful Nuthatch are found in this remote region. Overnight
stay in the Forest Rest House.
Day 07: Namdapha National Park
Today you will enjoy birding along the Burma Nallah Road and
try to locate the Pied Falconet, Mountain Bulbul and the
Greater and Lesser Necklaced Laughing thrushes, Slaty-bellied
Tesia and Sultan Tits. You will spend the afternoon along the
Noa Dihing River and look for the White-bellied Heron and the
Ibisbill. Overnight stay in the Forest Rest House.
Day 08: Namdapha National Park - Deban - Hornbill
Today you will have trekking from Deban to Hornbill and look
for different birds like Rufous necked Hornbill, Blue-Naped
Pitta, Wedge-billed wren Babbler and Snowy throated Babbler.
Overnight stay in camp.
Day 09: Hornbill - Beyond Bulbulia - Hornbill
Today you will have trekking from Hornbill to Beyond Bulbulia
and later drive back to Hornbill. Here you will see the
beautiful nuthatch, Green cochoa, Pin-tailed green imperial
pigeon, Black-headed shrike babbler, Snowy-throated, White
hooded babbler, Wreathed hornbill etc. Overnight stay in camp.
Day 10: Hornbill - Deban
Today you will trek back from Hornbill to Deban. Overnight
stay in forest rest house.
Day 11: Deban - Digboi
Today you will drive from Deban to Digboi. Digboi is situated
in eastern Assam. Digboi is known for the major oil field
reserve set up by the Indian Oil Corporation.
Day 12: Digboi
Today you will explore the nature reserve set up by the Indian
Oil Cooperation to protect the lowland forest in and around
the oldest operating oilfield in the world. It still harbours
an excellent array of birds like Orient, White-Checked
Partridge, Grey Peacock Pheasant and Wreathed Hornbill etc.
Day 13: Digboi - Nameri National Park
In the late afternoon drive to Nameri National Park. Nameri
National Park sprawls across wild dense forests on the
foothills of the eastern Himalayas. Various animals like
Tiger, Elephant, Leopard, Gaur, Pangolin, Indian Wild Dog,
Civet Cat, Capped Langur, Jackal, Barking Deer and Wild Boar
can be seen. Along with abundant wildlife, this park is a
heaven for birdwatchers harboring the endangered White Winged
Duck, four species of Hornbill, Scarlet Minivet, Collared
Falconet and Ibisbull etc.
Day 14: Nameri National Park
The whole day will be spend birding at Nameri and looking for
the Ibisbills.
Day 15: Nameri National Park - Guwahati - Delhi (by
air)
In the morning from Nameri National Park you will drive to Guwahati airport for the flight to Delhi. The rest of the day
at leisure.
Day 16: Delhi (Departure)
Around midnight flight to home destination.
