Day 01: Delhi
Around midnight arrival in
Delhi. The cosmopolitan city and capital Delhi is the main gateway for travellers. Upon arrival, you will be met by an Indo Vacations representative and transferred to the hotel.
Day 02: Delhi - Guwahati (by air) - Tezpur (about 185 kms)
In the morning after having breakfast, transfer to the airport for the flight to
Guwahati. Upon arrival, you will be met by an Indo Vacations representative and drive to
Tezpur. Tezpur was known as Sonitpur, the city of blood in the ancient times. This city was steeped in mythology legend and folklore. In the evening reach Tezpur and check in to the hotel.
Day 03: Tezpur - Dirang (about 190 kms.)
After breakfast drive to Dirang in
Arunachal Pradesh. Enroute visit orchid research center at Tipi (Bhalukpong). Out of thousand species of orchids in India, over 500 are found in Arunachal Pradesh. In the evening stay in the hotel in Dirang.
Day 04: Dirang - Tawang (about 130 kms.)
In the morning drive to
Tawang over Sela Pass. Enroute visit Monpa tribal villages, Tsela Lake at the height of 14000ft. In the evening reach Tawang and stay in the hotel. Tawang is the land of
Monpa tribes and the major centre of the
Mahayana Buddhism.
Day 05: Tawang
After breakfast full day excursion to the famous Tawang Monastery. The 300 year old Monastery, locally called ‘Gompa’ is considered to be the oldest in
India and second largest Monastery in Asia after
Lhasa in
Tibet. The monastery stands on the spur of a hill over 12000 feet. above the sea level, overlooking the wide valley and surrounded on all sides by towering mountains. In Tawang, you can also visit the study centre of Mahayana buddist, Museum, Emporium and local market.
Day 06: Tawang - Bomdila (about 172 kms.)
After breakfast drive to Bomdila.
Bomdila is the head quarters of West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh and located at an altitude of 8000 feet. It offers a marvelous view of the snow capped mountains and the mixed tribal group of Monpa, Sherdulpen, Aka, Miji and Bhugun and Tibetans resides here. Enroute visit the Jung waterfall and Jaswantgarh, a 1962 Indo-China war memorial, built in memory of a one brave Indian soldier named Jaswant who fought alone and manage to stop the Chinese army for 72 hrs in Indo-China war 1962. In Bomdila, visit upper and lower gompa (Buddhist monestry), local market, museum, emporium etc.
Day 07: Bomdila - Itanagar (about 270 kms.)
In the morning drive from Bomdila to Itanagar.
Itanagar is the capital city of
Arunachal Pradesh and is a modern settlement built in the vicinity of the ruins of the 14th century fort. In the evening stay in the hotel.
Day 08: Itanagar - Ziro (about 150 kms.)
After having breakfast visit local market and Jawaharlal Nehru Museum. All prototype of the bamboo and cane architecture of dwelling of different tribes and apparel, design and functional tools and others handicrafts are also displayed here. After visiting museum, drive to
Ziro. Enroute Nishi tribal villages. In the evening arrive in Ziro. Ziro is the headquarter of Lower Sabunsiri district of Arunachal Pradesh and located at an altitude of 1560 m, the plateau is surrounded by Apatani tribal villages, Dibbo-Hija-Bulla-Hari and Hong village.
Day 09: Ziro
Spend the whole day at Ziro.
Day 10: Ziro - Daporijo (about 160 kms.)
In the morning drive to Daporijo.
Daporijo is the headquarters of the Upper Subansri district of Arunachal Pradesh and located at an altitude of 600 m. This place is inhabited by Tagin tribes. Enroute you can visit the Hillmiri tribal villages. In the evening arrive in Daporijo.
Day 11: Daporijo - Along (about 150 kms.)
In the morning drive to Along. Along is the headquarterd of West Saing district of Arunachal Pradesh and located at an altitude of 300 m. This place is inhabited by
Adi (Gallong) tribes. On the way, you can visit Tagin tribal villages. Evening stay in the hotel.
Day 12: Along
Spend the whole day at
Along. In Along, visit Adi Gallong tribal villages.
Day 13: Along - Pasighat (about 95 km)
After having breakfast drive to Pasighat.
Pasighat is the district headquarters of East Siang District. On the way, you can visit the Adi (Minyong) tribal villages. In the evening stay in the hotel.
Day 14: Pasighat - Dibrugarh
In the morning after having breakfast drive to ferry ghat to take a boat to
Dibrugarh. Cross river Brahamaputra by country made ferry which take 5 to 6 hrs to reach Dibrugarh. The river Brahamaputra is situated at the confluence of the Siang and Lohit river of Arunachal Pradesh. In the evening stay in the hotel.
Day 15: Dibrugarh - Delhi (by air)
In the afternoon
transfer to the airport to take the flight to Delhi. In the evening
arrive in Delhi.
