Day 01. Flight to
India (Mumbai)
Around Midnight arrival in Mumbai (formerly known as Bombay). The
cosmopolitan City and capital of Maharashtra is the main gateway for
travellers to South and West India. You are met by an Indo Vacations
representative and transferred to the Hotel.
Day 02.
Mumbai
Today we
enjoy the city tour of Mumbai.
Mumbai is the second biggest city of India and is full of contrasts.
Mumbai with its temples, cathedrals and mosques is a real
cosmopolitan city of India. In Mumbai we have a walk through the
harbour area and visit the Gateway of India built in 1927 by English
to commemorate the visit of George 5th.

Day 03.
Mumbai - Cochin (by air)
In the morning we
drive to the airport to take the flight to Cochin.
Cochin is the
most interesting town in South India at Malabar Coast and is also
known as Venice of South. In Cochin we visit
St. Francis church, the
oldest European church in
India in which the grave of famous sailor
Vasco da Gama can be visited. After the visit of St. Francis Church
we have a walk through the Jewish area of Mattancherry.

Day 04.
Cochin
Today the town of Cochin is divided in different parts namely, Fort
Cochin, Willington Island, Ernakulam, Bolghatty Island and Vypeen
Island. Most of the historic buildings are in Fort Cochin. We have
whole day today at leisure so that we can explore Cochin on our own.
In the late afternoon we visit a Kathakali dance school.
Kathakali
dances originate from Kerala and in its traditional form relates
stories from the Hindu epics Ramayana and
Mahabharata.

Day 05.
Cochin - Munnar (about 130
km)
We leave today the tropical coast and drive to the mountains of
Kerala. Munnar lies at an altitude of
1530 m and is surrounded by Tea and Cardamom fields. Beautiful
scenery in and around makes this place worth visiting. Today we will
explore the surrounding on our own.

Day 06.
Munnar
In the
morning you will have sightseeing in Munnar and visit the tea
plantation, Rajmalai, the top peak of Munnar and Mattupetty.
Rajmalai is the natural habitat of the Nilgiri Tahr, located about
15 km from Munnar. Half of the world population of the rare mountain
goat, which is becoming extinct, is now found here. Mattupetty is
located about 15 kms from Munnar and known for its highly
specialized dairy farm - the Indo Swiss Livestock project. Over a
100 varieties of high yielding cattle are reared here.

Day 07.
Munnar - Periyar (about 25 km)
In the morning after
having breakfast drive to Thekkady. On arrival drive to the hotel.
Thekkady is a naturalist's paradise of unending chains of hills and
spice scented plantations. It has unspoilt tropical forests and
incredible wealth of animal and plant life. Thekkady is well known
for the Periyar National Park and the elephants are the major
attractions here. In the afternoon, drive to the Periyar National
Park. The Periyar National Park and Tiger Reserve is one of the most
captivating wildlife parks in the world and also one of the largest
and finest wildlife reserves in India. Periyar National Park covers
an area of 780 square km and was designated a part of project Tiger
in 1973. In the evening we have a boat ride on the Periyar lake and
observe the activities of elephants, tiger, bison, wild oxen, wild
boar and spotted deer.

Day 08. Periyar
Morning drive through the Cardamom mountains, along tea, coffee, and
spice plantations to Kumarakom. Boat ride through the backwaters,
branched inland waterways of Kerela, which takes place on the
colorful life of the locals, we experience an enchanting tropical
vegetation.

Day 09. Periyar - Kumarakom (about 120 km)
In the afternoon we drive through the mountains which are full of
Cardamom and pass through the tea and coffee plantations and proceed
to Kumarakom. In Kumarakom we enjoy the Boat ride trip through the
tropical vegetation on the backwaters.

Day 10. Kumarakom
The whole day is today at leisure. One can enjoy the Ayurveda
massage in the hotel or have a nice walk in the nice tropical
surroundings. The Swimming Pool of the hotel will be to happy to
welcome you for swimming and relaxing. BD
Day 11. Kumarakom - Kottayam - Alleppey (about 50 km)
Today we enjoy a Boat trip for two hours through the narrow
channels of famous backwaters of Kottayam and arrive in
Alleppey.
Overnight at houseboat.

Day 12. Alleppey - Cochin (about 64 km) - Mumbai (by air)
Today we drive to Cochin. This drive gives us again an impression of
the beautiful landscaping of this region. In the afternoon we take a
flight from Cochin to Mumbai. After our arrival in Bombay we will
get refresh and have dinner before we depart for the airport. BD
Day 13.
Flight to Home
Around midnight flight back to home destination.
