01. Flight to India
(Mumbai)
Around Midnight arrival in Mumbai. The cosmopolitan city Mumbai (formerly known as Bombay) is the main gateway for travellers to India. Mumbai is the capital of
Maharashtra and second biggest city of India. Upon arrival, you will be met by an Indo Vacations representative and transferred to the hotel.

02. Mumbai
Mumbai city is full of contrasts. Mumbai with its temples, cathedrals and mosques is a real cosmopolitan city of
India. Today after having our breakfast we have a walk through the harbor area and visit the Gateway of India built in 1927 by the English to commemorate the visit of George 5th from England. We also visit the Gandhi Museum and the famous Hanging Garden.

03. Mumbai - Cochin (by air)
In the morning we drive to the airport to take the flight to
Cochin. Cochin is the most interesting town in South India at Malabar Coast and is also known as Venice of South. In Cochin we visit
St. Francis church, the oldest European church in India in which the grave of famous sailor Vasco da Gama can be visited. After the visit of St. Francis Church we have a walk through the Jewish area of Mattancherry.

04. Cochin
Today the town of Cochin is divided in different parts namely, Fort Cochin, Willington Island, Ernakulam, Bolghatty Island and Vypeen Island. Most of the historic buildings are in Fort Cochin. We have whole day today at leisure so that we can explore Cochin on our own. In the late afternoon we visit a
Kathakali dance school.
Kathakali dances originate from Kerala and in its traditional form relates stories from the Hindu epics
Ramayana and
Mahabharata.

05. Cochin - Mararikulam (about 60 kms)
Today we drive to Mararikulam. This drive will gives us an impression of the beautiful landscaping of this region.
Mararikulam is a famous beach resort at the Malabar coast. The resort has been built in traditional Kerala style. The resort has been set up in 30 acres of beautiful gardens of mango, coconut palms, jack and other tropical fruit trees leading down to the Marari beach. The resort also has one of the finest Ayurveda center, established by the Casino group at their properties. The whole day is at leisure in Mararikulam.

06. Mararikulam
Today we enjoy the famous palm beaches of Mararikulam.

07. Mararikulam - Alappuzha - Kottayam - Kumarakom
In the morning we drive to Alappuzha formerly known as
Alleppey. Alappuzha is a never-ending panorama of lush green paddy fields, towering coconut trees, long canals, bridges and silver beaches. When we reach Alleppey then we have a Boat ride through the backwaters of Alappuzha and reach
Kottayam. Kottayam is located about 15 km from
Kumarakom on the Vembanad lake. This little backwater town is well known for its rubber plantations. We further have a boat ride on the backwaters of Kottayam. In the evening we reach Kumarakom. Kumarakom is a small village which is a cluster of little islands on the
Vembanad Lake in Kerela.
Kumarakom is surrounded by beautiful mangrove forests, coconut groves and paddy fields interspersed with enchanting waterways and canals adorned with white lillies.

08. Kumarakom
Today we visit the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary located along the famous backwaters of Kumarakom and enjoy the backwater trip. In the evening one can have a walk in the nice tropical surroundings.

09. Kumarakom - Periyar
Today we drive to Periyar. The Periyar Lake is the central point of the famous
Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. This sanctuary covers an area of 780 square km and was designated as a part of project Tiger in 1973. Today we have a Boat ride on the Periyar lake.

10. Periyar
Today we visit the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary and observe the activities of various animals. Elephants, Bison, Sambar, Wild oxen, Wild boar and Spotted Deer are the various animals which are found in this park.

11. Periyar - Madurai
Today we leave Periyar and drive to Madurai. Madurai, situated on the bank of river Vaigai is also
known as the Athens of the East. Madurai has the most outstanding examples of Vijayanagar temple
architecture in the
Minakshi Temple, a standing monument to the temple builders of the 16th and 17th century. We spend enough time in Minakshi Temple and afterwards have a walk through the bazaars of this 2500 years old town before we drive back to our hotel.

12. Madurai
Today we visit Tirumalai Nayaka Palace which was built in the 1636 and represent the Indo-Mughal style. After visiting the palace we visit the Gandhi Museum. In Gandhi Museum we get the information about the life of Gandhi and freedom movement during the presence of British in India.

13. Madurai - Chennai
Today after having breakfast we drive to
Chennai. Chennai is the cosmopolitan city and capital of
Tamil Nadu.
In the late evening arrive in Chennai and drive to the hotel.
Day
14. Chennai
After having the breakfast we start the sightseeing of Chennai. We visit the Fort St. George near the harbour area of Chennai. The British built this fort in the 17th century. We will also visit the St. Mary's Church. This church was the first English church in India. After visiting the church we drive back to the hotel. The rest of the day at leisure for shopping. After having dinner we depart to the airport.

15. Flight Back Home
Around midnight flight to home destination.
