The state of Rajasthan is a very beautiful state in India. While,
the state of Rajasthan is known for
the beauty of the desert, sand dunes, camel caravans, lakes, ponds,
rivers, forts and palaces, wildlife sanctuaries and temples, the
state of
Jammu and Kashmir is known all over the world for its beauty and
charm.
In the Kashmir and Rajasthan Tour you will visit Srinagar, Pahalgam
Delhi, Agra, Jaipur and Jaislamer.
Day 1. Arrival in India (Srinagar)
In the morning arrive at Srinagar airport or railway station.
Srinagar has been described by some visitors as the Venice of the
East. This beautiful city was established by Emperor Ashoka some
2300 years ago. A unique charm of Srinagar is its 1300 or more
houseboats, the floating little hotels on the edge of the Dal Lake.
Upon arrival you will be met by our representative and transferred
to the deluxe house boat. Rest of the day free for leisure to
explore the beautiful surroundings in Srinagar.
Day 2. Srinagar
Today we start our sightseeing in Srinagar. Today we visit the
famous Mughal gardens in Srinagar. In the Mughal gardens first of
all you will view the Chashma Shahi. Chashma Shahi means the Royal
Spring and is dedicated to the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. The spring
waters are believed to have curative properties. After visiting the
Chashma Shahi we visit the Nishat and Shalimar Mughal Gardens.
Nishat is the larger of the two gardens and has an impressive
plantation of Chenar trees on its highest terrace. Both the gardens
are built on a symmetrical plan of central waterways with fountains
dividing a series of gardened terraces. In the evening we visit the
Shankaracharya Temple. This temple is located on a sharp hill, 1,000
feet high and houses a small temple dedicated to
Lord Shiva. It was
built in memory of the great Shankaracharya who came to Kashmir from
Kerala to revive Hinduism. From the top of the hills, you would be
able to have a panoramic view of the Kashmir Valley. After visiting
the temple we drive back to our house boat.
Day 3. Srinagar - Pahalgam - Srinagar (about 194 km)
In the morning after breakfast drive to Pahalgam.
Pahalgam is
located about 97 km from Srinagar. On the way we pass through pine
forest and also visit the saffron fields. Pahalgam is the popular
hill resort of the Kashmir valley. Pahalgam is situated at a height
of 7,200 feet. The flora and fauna is good and the scenery in
Pahalgam is captivating. It is from Pahalgam that the pilgrims often
take a Amarnath Yatra. In Pahalgam one can have a walk to Baisaren,
which is about 2 km from Pahalgam. A small village, set in pine and
fir forest is pleasing and offers good view. After visiting Pahalgam
we drive back to Srinagar.

time, constructed by Akbar the Great in the 16th century. This
wonderful city constructed by red sand stones was abandoned as
abruptly as it had been built. It has been generally stated that it
was due to failing in the water supply. In the evening arrive in
Jaipur.
Day 8. Jaipur – Jaisalmer (by train)

Amber, laying 11

Enroute to Amber we will visit the
Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Winds),
built in 1799 AD, it contains 953 small casements with each having
its own balcony. The windows enabled cool air to circulate and the
ladies to watch processions below without being seen. In the

residence of the royal family, built in a blend of the
Rajasthani
and Mughal architecture. In the museum of the
City Palace we visit

five remarkable observatories. Its complex instruments reveal us the
secrets of medieval Indian astronomy. Later we have a walk through
the colourful Bazaar of Jaipur and visit a factory to see the famous
block printing work being done since centuries in Jaipur. In the

its prosperity was due to its location on the main trade route
linking India to Egypt, Arabia, Africa and the West. Jaisalmer is a
marvel of beautiful culture and this city remains one of the most
exotic city not only in
Rajasthan but in the whole of
India. Some of
the visitors called this city "a living museum". We have a walk
