Day 01:
Guwahati (Arrival)
Around midnight arrival in Guwahati. Guwahati was the ancient
capital of various kingdoms. Upon arrival, you will be met by
our representative and transferred to the hotel.
Day 02: Guwahati
In the morning after the breakfast you will start our
sightseeing of various places in Guwahati. Here you will visit
Vashistha Ashram, the ashram where once the sage Vashistha
lived. You will also visit Janardhan temple built on the top
of the hill and Kamakhya temple. This temple built on the top
of the hill, is devoted to the goddess Kamakhya. The hill
offers a panoramic view of the Brahmaputra and the surrounding
region. Evening free for leisure.
Day 03: Guwahati - Kaziranga National Park
In the morning after breakfast from Guwahati you will drive to
Kaziranga National Park. You will come across the forest
covered hills, small villages, low-lying fields with stands of
coconut palms and tea estates before reaching Kaziranga
National park. In the afternoon you will visit the Kaziranga
National Park. Kaziranga was declared a game sanctuary in the
year 1908, to save the Indian one-horned rhino. You can also
see Wild Buffalo, Bison, Sambar, Swamp Deer, Hog Deer, Wild
Pig, Hoolock Gibbon, Elephants and Tiger.
Day 04: Kaziranga National Park - Majuli
In the morning, you will drive further to visit Majuli. Majuli
is the world's biggest river island and a principal place of
pilgrimage for the Vaishnavites of Assam since the Ahom days.
There are several Satras of Vaishnava religious creed. Of
these holy seats, Auniati, Daksinpath, Garamur and Kamlabari
are the four most prominent.
Day 05: Majuli - Sivasagar
In the morning from Majuli you will drive to Sivasagar. This
is the place from which the Ahoms ruled the whole province of
Assam from 1228 to 1826. Presently, Sivasagar presents the
unique spectacle of industrial transformation of a silent town
in the backdrop of relics of bygone days. Sivasagar (earlier
known as Rongpur) was the capital of Ahom Kingdom since 1699
to 1788. The town, which is dedicated to Lord Siva means the
ocean of Siva. In Sivasagar you will visit all ancient
monuments of the Great Ahom Kingdoms. You will also visit
Sivadol- the tallest temple of Lord Siva in India.
Day 06: Sivasagar
Day at leisure in Sivasagar.
Day 07: Sivasagar - Dibrugarh
Drive to Dibrugarh after breakfast. Visit a tea garden and
admire the lifestyle of adivasis in the tea estate. You will
be accommodated in a host bunglow inside the garden. Evening
enjoy the night falling with spring scent. Overnight stay at
bunglow in Dibrugarh.
Day 08: Dibrugarh - Digboi
After a leisurely breakfast drive to Digboi, oldest operating
and the second oldest oil field in the world. On arrival you
will accommodated in a Bunglow. In the evening drive down
through the small hillocks and enjoy the silence in the living
presence. Overnight stay at Digboi.
Day 09: Digboi
After leisurely breakfast we will reach the Digboi Oil Field
which is not just an Oil Field but an Oil Museum and a wild
life sanctuary dotted with numerous green hills. The world's
oldest operating Oil Machinery of Digboi is still producing in
excess of its capacity and hence the name of Digboi is the
"Oil City of Assam". In the evening you have your own trip
down the meandering roads. Overnight stay in the Bunglow.
Day 10: Digboi - Dibrugarh
Return to Dibrugarh to take your onward flight.
