Day 01:
Guwahati (Arrival)
Arrival in Guwahati and transferred to the hotel. Overnight
stay at Guwahati.
Day 02: Guwahati - Cherrapunjee (about 170 kms)
After breakfast visit Kamakhya Temple, a major Hindu
Pilgrimage site. Return to hotel after paying homage to the
mother goddess Kamakhya and drive on to Cherrapunjee, the
wettest region in the world receiving highest rainfall.
Visiting en-route Borapani Umiam Lake, a majestic placid lake
with its surrounding sylvan hills Overnight stay in
Cherrapunjee.
Day 03: Cherrapunjee
Explore Krem Mawmluh Cave. This cave is located half a km west
of Cherrapunjee adjacent to the small hamlet of Mawmluh. The
cave has five river passage with impressive proportions. The
cave has a length of over seven Kms. Also visit the Waterfalls
of Cherrapunjee and Living root Bridges. Overnight stay in
Cherrapunjee.
Day 04: Cherrapunjee
After an early morning breakfast walk to the Double Decker
Living Root Bridge. An engineering marvel of Indigenous Khasi
Tribesmen. Who weaved the routes of the ereca tree to make
bridges across streams. Return to Chera Tourist Resort after a
picnic lunch at the bridge. Evening at leisure to experience
the breathtaking views of the Khasi hills and the plains of
Bangladesh. Overnight at Cherapunjee.
Day 05: Cherrapunjee - Shillong
After breakfast drive to Shillong, the 'Scotland of the East'.
En-route encounter Elephanta falls and Shillong peak for some
breathtaking views. Overnight at Shillong.
Day 06: Shillong
Morning sightseeing at Shillong, admire the beauty of Shillong
also called Scotland of the East. It is erstwhile capital of
undivided Assam; present North-East and home to the Khasi
Highland tribes. Overnight at Shillong.
Day 07: Shillong - Kaziranga National Park (about 280
kms)
Early morning drive onto famous Kaziranga National park.
Afternoon explore Kaziranga National Park on Jeep Ride.
Overnight at Kaziranga National Park.
Day 08: Kaziranga National Park
Early morning explore central area of Kaziranga National park
on an elephant safari. Ride an Elephant through the park
chasing a unicorn rhino along with a wide range of rare
species. After lunch again take jeep safari to the central
area of the park. Rest of the day at leisure to explore
nature. Overnight at tourist Lodge.
Day 09: Kaziranga National Park - Kohima - Touphema (about 266 kms)
Driev to Kohima after breakfast. On arrival lunch at Kohima
and proceed to Touphema Village Resort run by Angami Naga
village community. Overnight at Touphema Tourist village.
Day 10: Touphema - Kohima - Dimori Cave
After breakfast check out of the village resort and drive to
Kohima. Post lunch visit the World war II Cemetery, nestled in
the heart of Kohima town, where one of the fiercest battles
was fought. On a huge stone in in-laid bronze the following
famous words remained one of the undoubting courage displayed
by the war heroes in order to preserve the freedom of the
future generation. "When you go home Tell them of us and say
For your Tomorrow We gave our today". Also visit The State
Museum, located at Bayani hill Kohima, it gives you a peep
into the various aspects of Naga Culture. It displays dioramas
of the lifestyle of the Naga tribes. Artifacts, handlooms, &
Handicrafts, Tools & Implements, Gems and Jewellery, Coins and
Ancient weaponry will give you an idea of the rich Culture and
Heritage of the native people. Proceed to Kepfiizha (Kigwema
village) and check into Dimori Cove Guest. Overnight stay at
Dimori Cove.
Day 11: Dimori Cave - Kipfiizha - Dziikuo valley
Morning drive to Dziikou valley via Jakhama village. The drive
will end at a point from where one has to trek up to the
Dzukou valley, which takes 4hrs. Dzukou valley is at a height
of 2438 mts is on the southwest side of Japfu ranges. It is at
a distance of 25 kms from Kohima and can be approached from
different routes via Jakhoma, Viswema on NH 39. This valley is
a place of Solace and Tranquility and provides the right
atmosphere for all Eco Adventures, Nature lovers, Trekkers.
Bamboo brush, a tough dwarf bamboo predominates the vegetation
and it gives an appearance of a fully mown lawn from afar. The
serpentine streams & rivulets flows leisurely through the
valley freeze during winter. Rhododendrons adorn the hills,
rocks during spring. Summer brings its own variety of flowers
to the valley, during this season, the valley looks a
veritable "Garden of Eden". Overnight in the rest house, rock
caves or tents.
Day 12: Dziikou Valley - Kipfiizha - Dimori Cave
Morning Explore Dzikou valley. The call of Dziikou is
irresistible for trekkers. This is the best trekking spot in
the NE Region. Post Lunch return to Dimori Cove and proceed to
Hornbill Festival. Overnight stay at Dimori Cove.
Day 13: Dimori Cave - Khonoma - Kohima (about 20 kms)
Morning check out of Dimori Cove and drive to Khonoma Angami
Tribal village and the home village of father of Naga
Nationalist movement Angami Phizo. This village located on top
of a hillock has a pastoral beauty of its own. This was where
the Last part of the Anglo Naga War was fought. Return to
Kohima for overnight stay.
Day 14: Kohima - Jorhat (200 Kms 4 hrs)
Early in the morning, you will drive to Jorhat, the
tea-capital of Assam. On arrival at Jorhat, you will be
accommodated in the Thengal Mansion, a historic ancestral
house of a Tea Planter amidst an Asssamese village, 15 kms
from Jorhat. The 72-year old Thangal Mansion is to answer the
queries on Assamese culture and tradition. After lunch and
rest, take a walk in a nearby village to see the simplicity of
their lives.
Day 15: Jorhat - Dirang (about 260 kms)
Early morning departure with packed breakfast. Drive through
the picturesque tea gardens of Tezpur to reach Bhalukpung
(about 130 km), on the foothills of Eastern Himalayas. After
entry formalities and lunch we enter Arunachal, bounty of
unending natural beauty. Driving for 20 minutes through curly
roads overlooking the dancing 'Bhoroli' river you arrive at
Tipi, where lies the Orchidarium, a glass house having 7500
orchids. We drive on to Dirang. On reaching Dirang check in
the hotel.
Day 16: Dirang - Sela Pass
Early morning, we will visit the upper and the lower 'Gompa'
(Buddhist Monastery) at Bomdilla. After a leisurely breakfast
we depart for Sela Pass (13703 feet). You drive onto centuries
old Dirang Basti a 'Dirang Monpa' tribal village, still
retaining its old stone made houses and its colourful
inhabitants with warmth in their hearts. Dirang town
overlooking the fast flowing Dirang river. Camp at Sela pass
(13703 feet).
Day 17: Sela - Chabrilla (13000 feet) (5 hrs trek)
After breakfast we start trekking with packed lunch. Arrive at
Chabrilla camp. Overnight stay in tents.
Day 18: Chabrilla - Nurarang - Tawang (12000 feet) (4
hrs trek)
After breakfast we start trekking for Nurarang with packed
lunch. Arrive at Nurarang High altitude Trout Fish Farm. From
Nurarang drive to Tawang, the blessed land of Monpas.
Overnight at Tawang.
Day 19: Tawang
After breakfast, visit 350 years old Buddhist monastery,
locally known as Gompa, which seems to be suspended from
heaven in an equally ethereal space. Also visit the nunneries
locally called Ani Gompa and Urgelling Monastery, 460 years
old Monastery established by lama Urghen Sangpo Bhumthang,
which is also the birthplace of His holiness 6th Dalai Lama.
In the evening enjoy ethnic Monpa tribal dances and dances by
Lamas. Overnight at Tawang.
Day 20: Tawang - Dirang
Waterfalls, Sela peak, Scenic beauty. Early morning drive to
Jang to encounter the waterfalls, one of the breathtaking
sights. Move onto Dirang (150km), another heart pulling place
with scenic beauty, en-route stopping at Sela Top (14000
feet). Overnight stay at Dirang.
Day 21: Dirang
Overnight camping in the hills.
Day 22: Dirang
Trek to the valley to have look at the Rare Black Necked Cranes
Wintering at Sangti. Return to Dirang Resort for some
refreshment. Overnight at Dirang.
Day 23: Dirang - Bhalukpung - Nameri National Park
(about 130 kms)
Early morning drive onto Bhalukpung with packed breakfast.
After lunch we raft down Jia Bhoreli river to Nameri national
Park. Overnight at Nameri National Park.
Day 24: Nameri National Park - Guwahati (about 275 kms)
Early morning walk inside the National Park on the Tigers
Trail. Return for Breakfast. After breakfast another session
of rafting on Jia Bhoreli and Elephant ride to National park.
Return to Guwahati after picnic lunch. Overnight at Guwahati.
Day 25: Guwahati
Explore this gateway city to North-East India and the
riverfront of mighty Brahmaputra River. In the evening set out
on a River cruise to watch the sun go down the river and see
yourself why the river is locally called 'Luit'- colour of
blood.
Day 26: Guwahati
Local Sightseeing in and around Guwahati.
Day 27: Guwahati (Departure)
Flight to home destination.
