Day
01: Flight to India (New Delhi)
Around
midnight arrival in
New Delhi. The cosmopolitan city and
capital New Delhi is the main gateway for the travellers.
Upon arrival, you
will be met by an Indo Vacations representative and transferred
to the hotel.
Day
02: New Delhi
This
morning is at leisure. In the afternoon we will have sightseeing of Old
Delhi. Sightseeing of Old Delhi includes "Rajghat"
and "Jama Masjid", the great mosque of old Delhi.
Today we also visit the famous "Humayun Tomb"
which is the first substantial example of Mughal architecture
in India. We will also visit "Qutub Minar" which
is 71 meter high and consists of five stories. In 1199 work
began on this tower, which was intended to be the most glorious
tower of victory in the world. Before we proceed to the
hotel we will drive through New Delhi where we will visit the
India Gate, Government Buildings and Embassies.
Day
03: New Delhi - Khajuraho (by air)
In
the morning, after having our breakfast we will drive to
Delhi Airport for a flight to Khajuraho. By the afternoon
we will arrive in
Khajuraho. Upon arrival, you will be met by an Indo Vacations
representative and transferred to the hotel. Evening free for
leisure.
Day
04: Khajuraho - Bandhavgarh National
Park
In
the morning from Khajuraho we will drive further to visit
the
Bandhavgarh National Park. Bandhavgarh National Park
lies in the heart of Madhya Pradesh - traditional tiger country.
A hunting reserve of the royal family of Rewa in more recent
times, Bandhavgarh was declared as a National Park in 1968.
This is where the famous white tigers of Rewa were discovered.
This Park, which covers an area of 448 square km. is a reserve
of sal trees, bamboo thickets and grasslands, teeming with
birds and animals and the highest population of tigers anywhere
in India. The thick forest of Bandhavgarh National Park
sits in a bowl encircled by cliffs and wooded Vindhya Mountains.
This park has around 22 species of wild life, including
the regal "Gaur", Tiger, Deer and various other
animals such as the Striped Hyena, Jungle Cat, Sloth Bear,
Nilgai, Chausingha, Chital, Chinkara, Wild boar, Fox or
Jackal and over 250 species of birds. Within the park itself
is the Bandhavgarh Fort, now in ruins and largely overrun
by the surrounding forest. The main wildlife viewing is
still done in the core of the park with its 32 picturesque,
wooded hills.
Day
05: Bandhavgarh National Park - Khajuraho
In
the morning after the breakfast we will drive to
Khajuraho.
Khajuraho was the capital of the Chandela dynasty. The Chandela
Kings claimed descent from the moon. The temples of Khajuraho
are among the finest examples of temple craftsmanship in
the whole of India. Today we visit the temple complex of
Eastern Group and
Western Group to see the most beautiful temples in
India. Most famous among them is the Laxmana Temple, which
is dedicated to god Vishnu. The presence of erotic sculptures
in the Temples at Khajuraho is one of the expressions among
others of the celebration of all human activities displaying
different aspects of Hinduism.
Day
06: Khajuraho - Varanasi (by air)
In the morning we
have a flight to
Varanasi. Varanasi is without doubt India's
most sacred city and thus visited by over one million people.
Varanasi is also called the city of light. Buddha visited
this city in 500 BC. Evening at leisure.
Day
07: Varanasi
In
the early morning we take a boat ride on the holy river
Ganges and enjoy sunrise on the boat.
Ghats (flight of steps)
and the activities of pilgrims on that are the principal
attraction for visitors to Varanasi. Thousands of pilgrims
and devotees visit this city to make holy prayers, to meditate
and to purify themselves by taking a bath in the holy river
Ganges. In the noon we visit the city of Varanasi.
Day 08: Varanasi - Kathmandu (by air)
In the morning flight to Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal.
In the morning we will enjoy the first impression of Kathmandu.
Kathmandu Valley is the cultural and political heart of
the country. The city enjoyed its most glorious time under
the reign of Mallas in the 16th and 17th century. We will
start our sightseeing by visiting Durbar Square. Durbar
Square is the spiritual heart of Kathmandu. This old royal
palace at the centre of the city is surrounded by temples
and other important buildings. This is the most important
point in Kathmandu to see the culture and religion of Nepal.
After Durbar Square we will visit Swayambhunath. The stupa
at Swayambhunath is the most important and oldest site of
Buddhist worship in Nepal. Swayambhunath Stupa is famous
for the eyes of Buddha, which seem to be observing the world
from all 4 directions. After Swayambhunath we will visit
Bodhnath. Bodhnath is the largest Stupa of Nepal. Around
the octagonal base of Stupa there are 108 images of Buddha
where prayer ceremonies of Buddhist Lamas are taking place
since over 2000 years.
Day
09: Kathmandu - Pokhara
In
the morning after having our breakfast, we will drive to
Pokhara. Pokhara is the gateway to Himalaya. The Pokhara
valley is the second biggest valley in the central hilly
region of Nepal after Kathmandu. The town of Pokhara itself,
at an altitude of just 900 m on the Seti Khola river is
overshadowed by the fishtail mountain (6999 m), one of
the most beautiful mountain of the world. We will drive
further to the north of Pokhara.
Day
10: Pokhara
In
the early morning we drive to the north of Pokhara to the
view point and enjoy the panorama view of the Annapurna
and Machapuchare mountains which are only 30 km away from
us. In the morning time these mountain appears to be in
the golden light. After the breakfast in Pokhara we drive
15 km to Begnas lake and have a Boat ride on the lake. The
Begnas lake is the biggest lake in the Pokhara valley with
beautiful surrounding. We can have a walk here and see the
life in the villages of Himalayas. It is a home to thick
forests, gushing rivers and emerald lakes.
Day
11: Pokhara - Chitwan National Park
Today
we leave the world of mountains and drive to the south of
Nepal to the Royal Chitwan National Park. This National
Park is situated near the India and Nepal border. The area
of the National Park covers around 932 square km. It was
established in the year 1973. The Chitwan National park
is the natural habitat of the Royal Bengal Tiger, Great
one-horned Indian Rhinoceros, Leopards, Gaur Bison, Sloth,
Wild Bear, Sambars and around 440 species of birds including
the giant hornbill, the rare Bengal Florican and the paradise
Flycatcher. We have our overnight stay in a comfortable
Lodge in the National Park.
Day
12: Chitwan National Park
In
the morning we will take the best possibility to explore
the National Park. In the early
morning there are more than 450 different bird species that
make this National Park full of life. In the afternoon we
take a ride in a Canoe on the Narayani River and after than
get on to jeeps to explore the park more intensively in
the company of a forest officer.
Day
13: Chitwan National Park - Kathmandu
Today
we leave Chitwan National Park and drive to Kathmandu. Evening
is at leisure. We have enough time today to discover the
coloured bazaar of Kathmandu. After having the dinner transfer
to the Airport.
Day
14: Kathmandu
Around
midnight flight to home destination.
