Day
01: Flight to India (New Delhi)
Around
midnight arrival in
New Delhi. The cosmopolitan city and
capital New Delhi is the main gateway for the travellers. Upon arrival, you
will be met by an Indo Vacations representative and transferred
to the hotel.
Day
02: New Delhi
In the
morning we have sightseeing of Old Delhi. Sightseeing of Old
Delhi includes "Rajghat" and "Jama Masjid", the great mosque of old Delhi. Today we also visit the famous "Humayun Tomb" which
is the first substantial example of Mughal architecture
in India. We will also visit "Qutub Minar" which
is 71 meter high and consists of five stories. In 1199 work
began on this tower, which was intended to be the most glorious
tower of victory in the world. Before we proceed to the
hotel we will drive through New Delhi where we will visit the
India Gate, Government Buildings and Embassies.
Day
03: New Delhi - Jaipur
Today we leave New
Delhi and drive to the Pink City
Jaipur.
This city owes
its name, foundations and
careful planning to the great
warrior and astronomer, Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. Jaipur
is the capital ofRajasthan and famous for its handicrafts
and precious and semiprecious stones. In the afternoon
we visit the
City Palace, which is still
the formal residence of the royal family, built in a
blend
of the Rajasthani and Mughal architecture. In the museum
of the City palace we visit the private
collection of the
Jaipur Maharajas. We continue to
Jantar Mantar, a stone
observatory, and the largest of
Jai Singh's five remarkable
observatories. Its complex instrument reveal us the secrets
of medieval Indian
astronomy.
Day
04: Jaipur
After
breakfast we drive to the ancient capital of
Amber, laying
11 km. away from Jaipur. Amber was the ancient capital of
Kachhawaha dynasty for 6 centuries before it was moved to
newly created Jaipur. We will ascend to the Palace Fortress
on the back of an Elephant. Enroute to Amber we will visit
the
Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Winds), built in 1799 AD,
it contains 953 small casements with each having its own
balcony. The windows enabled cool air to circulate and the
ladies to watch processions below without being seen. In
the afternoon we have a walk through the colourful Bazaar
of Jaipur and visit a factory to see the famous block printing
work being done since centuries in Jaipur. In the evening
we drive through the new city of Jaipur and visit "Laxmi
Narayan Mandir", a Hindu temple made out of white marble.
We might have an opportunity here to observe a prayer ceremony.
Today we also have a dinner with the presentation of Indian
music and dance.
Day 05: Jaipur - Ranthambore
Today we leave the
pink city Jaipur and drive to
Ranthambore.
After a break and refreshment in Ranthambore we will explore
the
Ranthambore
National Park. Ranthambore National Park is surrounded
by the Vindhyas and the Aravali mountains and covers an
area of 392 square km. The Tiger remains the biggest attraction
of the Ranthambore National Park.
Day
06: Ranthambore - Bharatpur
In the morning after
breakfast we will move further to visit
Bharatpur, where
in the famous Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary or Keoladeo Ghana
National Park, India's largest
bird sanctuary and a paradise for bird lovers is located. The marshes
here are home to over 360 species of birds including the
Siberian cranes. Every year
the Siberian cranes come to spend the winter in the warmer
climate of Bharatpur. This sanctuary has more than 400 species
of water birds and is also the best spot to watch the exotic
migratory birds from Afghanistan, Central Asia, Tibet as
well as Siberian cranes from the Arctic.
Day
07: Bharatpur - Fatehpur Sikri - Agra
In the early morning
we will visit the
Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary to enjoy bird watching.
After having our breakfast we leave Rajasthan and proceed
to Agra. Enroute we make a stop and visit
Fatehpur Sikri,
which was once an imperial capital frozen in time, constructed
by Akbar the Great in the 16th century. This wonderful city
constructed by red sand stones was abandoned as abruptly
as it had been built. It has been generally stated that
it was due to failing in the water supply. In the evening
we will arrive in
Agra. Evening free for leisure.
Day
08: Agra
We start today our sightseeing by
a visit to the
Agra Fort, built by three of the greatest Mughal emperors. The construction of this massive structure
began in 1565 under Akbar's reign and continued till the
time of his grandson's reign, Shah Jahan who built the impressive
imperial quarters and mosque. After the visit of Agra Fort
we proceed to visit the most beautiful monument of India,
the
Taj Mahal, an enduring monument to love, with a continually
fulfilling beauty. It was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah
Jahan between 1631-52, as a tomb and memorial to his beloved
wife Mumtaz Mahal (Jewel of the Palace), who died at the
age of 39 giving birth to her 14th child. We spend enough
time at Taj Mahal to take this impressive memory home.
Day
09: Agra - Gwalior (about 120 kms)
After the breakfast we drive to Gwalior. Gwalior's strategic position between
North and South India has made it's Fort an important possession and it was captured by several ruling houses. Some left almost as soon as they came, while others stayed on to build and beautify the citadel. We visit the fort of Gwalior today
itself. Rest of the day at leisure.
Day
10: Gwalior - Orcha - Khajuraho (about 330
kms)
Today early morning we leave Gwalior and proceed to Khajuraho. On the way to Khajuraho we visit
Orchha. Orchha's grandeur has been captured in stone, frozen in time, a rich legacy to the ages. In this medieval city, the hand of time has rested lightly and the palaces and temples built by its Bundela rulers in the 16th and 17th centuries retain much of their pristine
perfection. After the visit of Orchha we proceed for
Khajuraho.
Arrive in Khajuraho in the late evening. Khajuraho was the capital of the Chandela dynasty.
The Chandela Kings claimed descent from the moon. The temples
of Khajuraho are among the finest examples of temple craftsmanship
in the whole of India.
Day
11: Khajuraho
Today we visit the
temple complex of
Eastern Group and
Western Group to see the most beautiful
temples in India. Most famous among them is the Laxmana
Temple, which is dedicated to god Vishnu. The presence of
erotic sculptures in the Temples at Khajuraho is one of
the expression among others of the celebration of all human
activities displaying different aspects of Hinduism. Evening
free for leisure.
Day
12: Khajuraho - Bandhavgarh National Park
In the morning from
Khajuraho we will drive further to visit
Bandhavgarh National
Park. Bandhavgarh National Park covers an area of 105 square
km lies in the Vindhyan Mountains range. The 14th century
Bandhavgarh fort and pre-historic caves are worth visiting
place in this place. The animals found in this area are Tiger,
Leopard, Sloth Bear, Gaur, Sambars, Chital, Nilgai, Chinkara,
Wild Pigs. It is the same place where white tigers were first
spotted in the year 1951. In the afternoon we visit the
Bandhavgarh National Park.

13: Bandhavgarh National Park - Kanha
National Park
In the morning we
drive further to visit
the
Kanha National Park. Kanha National Park is perhaps
the largest wildlife sanctuary in Asia. It covers an area
of over 1945 square km. and was established in the year 1974.
This park is a home of animals like Tiger, Porcupines, Jackals,
Sloth Bear, Jungle Cat, Macaque, dhole (wild dogs), Bison
and a wide variety of birds. If you are lucky you will get
to see the rare hardground Barasingha, which is found only
in Kanha.
Day
14: Kanha National Park
In the early morning
we will explore the park on jeeps. After the Jeep Safari
we leave the Kanha National Park. Evening free for leisure.
Day
15: Kanha National Park - Bhopal
In the morning from Kanha National
Park we will drive to Bhopal. Evening free for leisure on arrival in Bhopal.
Day 16: Bhopal - New Delhi (by air)
In the morning transfer
to airport for the flight to Delhi. Upon arrival, you will be met by an Indo
Vacations representative and transferred to the hotel.
Evening free at leisure (opportunity for the last shopping).
After dinner we leave the hotel for the airport.

17: New Delhi
Around
midnight flight to home destination.
